We had our first confirmed case of coronavirus in San Diego county a little more than a week ago. They have now found a “cluster” - a group of men who went skiing in Colorado and brought it back from there.

Is there a Trump property there? If so, surround it with the National Guard and keep everyone from going in or out.

Eagle County enjoys better health care facilities than most rural areas. At some point, other rural hotspots will pop up in less well-served counties and it’ll be gruesome.

There are a lot of rural retirement/care facilities. It could get ugly fast.

March 7th: “No, I’m not concerned at all,” Trump said from Mar-a-Lago. “No, I’m not. No, we’ve done a great job.”

March 9th: Trump bashes Democrats for sounding the alarm “far beyond what the facts would warrant” before implying that the common flu is far worse, an argument he’s made on several occasions and which has been parroted by Fox News.

Despite being a loathsome RethugniCON, wishing the @VP staff and any other American who is infected to have a quick recovery!

Meanwhile…

And Trump lashing out at Peter Alexander…

A good buddy of mine has been there for the past 25 years. He’s very active in the tourist/entertainment industry. This news makes me very worried.

A lot of folks went day-skiing before the resorts closed the slopes. Then they returned home to Front Range cities…

Our ski areas draw from the entire nation, even world wide. Who knows where those people returned to. Denver metro wouldn’t be the only area.

. The area has emptied of international tourists and seasonal workers, whom resorts kicked out by the hundreds earlier this week.

In other words, they took a relatively contained hot spot and exploded it so that infections would be spread far and wide…

This kind of idiocy is a result of a failure by national leadership…

Colorado isn’t surprising; well, no place is a surprise.

Remember the Australian doctor who left Denver Feb 27, went back to Melbourne with a covid19?

My friend has wealthy relatives in their late 60s in Savannah and they have all been merrily socializing with their friends in the usual large groups. My friend’s cardiologist warned them that he thinks the U.S. is going down the same road as Italy, and she passed that along to her relatives in hopes of getting through, and they just shrugged because, oh well, what’s Italy got to do with our country club bash?

Fortunately for posting, bur unfortunately for the health of millions, Trump’s own words and attitude and grievances and victimization from his perceived unfairness of the media are out there.

My hometown has two ski resorts. One hosted a junior ski race in early March. People came from all over and mingled at a dinner at the end of the competition. A few days later, the resort sent out the bad news that one of the skiers had tested positive for coronavirus.

If the actual town escapes the virus, others who have scattered to the four winds might not be so lucky.
