In an emotional, direct address forced by the virtual convention format, Democratic nominee Joe Biden set the stage for less of an election and more of a cosmic battle between good and evil: A battle for the soul of the nation.
“I’ll be an ally of the light, not the darkness,”
This ally of the light is the real working class American, a proud Democratic Nominee and will hopefully be the American President for all, not just for “our people” or voter base!
I came away with the impression of the “light” versus the “dark” that the enemy is Sauron (Trumpty Dumpty) in Mordor (Mar-A-Lago). This does break down a bit because Sauron was actually pretty smart. It’s a bit reinforced when you compare the quality of the people that surround the Dotard at Mar-A-Lago with Orcs.
As for me, I’m now considering how large a Biden/Harris sign I can put up on my front lawn and not upset the neighborhood rules. It’s nose-to-the-grindstone until the polls close on November 3rd.
He sounded coherent, thoughtful and serious. He didn’t embarrass me at all! I’m so in!

So people it comes down to this, there’s a choice to be made when it comes to vote you can either vote for democracy or dictatorship which will it be? This vote is a vote for democracy or a vote for a dictatorship . Like Michelle Obama said if you think it can’t get worse believe me it can. A little taste of our future if you vote for the dictator wanna be just look at the mail sorting machines that have been scattered too and fro in parking lots disassembled take a look he took a wrecking ball to the post office. You can say people can blame the postmaster general but he’s only following the dictators orders and that’s a fact. A wrecking ball to a beloved program department our US mail seriously? We need to take action because it’s very serious our post office needs to be put back together every one of those sorting machines need to go back and put in place don’t care how it’s done who does it it will be done and the postmaster general needs to be fired E mediately. Every laid off personnel everyone that was demoted or moved around need to go back to their posts before Donald Trump puppet took over the post office. That’s a fact that’s where it starts and it needs to be done immediately.
And the Democrats need to work on your messaging system like Social Security if you think this dictator won’t take a wrecking ball to our Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid think again he will disassemble it he will ruin it and he’ll start by cutting out the tax you know seriously listen up seniors even if you’re a deplorable senior he’s come in for your Social Security your Medicare and possibly Medicaid. Yeah look for that dictator that makes a lot of sense. Or do the right thing and vote for Joe So that we can be assured that we have a president Joe Biden that will work together with everyone back together or restructure it in a way that benefits everyone that this monster dictator this trader Donald Trump has managed to destroy because that’s what he does. Been reading the highlights on different sites. I’m sorry I missed his speech but was traveling. From the reviews I’ve read I’d say were in for a lovely trumpp pity party.
eta; If team Biden’s plan is to frame the race as a battle between light and dark I think they’ve got something they can run with. Biden could parry any trumpp vitriol as more of the same negativity and contrast that with a hopeful message.

Biden nailed his landing tonight… just like Trump was afraid he would do. This White House has been dreading this speech, this moment for nearly a year now.
Democrats also proved that they have mastered the video convention and all the creative marketing/communications innovations that the pandemic forced us to invent.
But you just know Donald will insist on one of his typical NeoNazi rallies next week. Republicans are going to make fools of themselves and alienate even more people. They can’t control themselves. They can’t edge back from the brink.

Joe Biden met the moment x1000. It was a powerful, effective speech for an exhausted, anxious nation.
There’s a reason Trump did not want Biden on the Democratic ticket. We just saw and heard that reason.

There was an honesty in his delivery that went beyond simple truth. He showed an emotional sincerity that trump could never match or even comprehend. I thought he was fantastic.
Generally I would frown on biblical metaphors of light vs darkness in a political speech but I really feel this election it should be the exception.

Trump = Darkness
It’s only 25 minutes. And well worth it. Powerful, in my view, and pitch perfect.
Biden “I will be an American president” As opposed to Putin’s stooge and one who is more enamored of the worst potentates in the world than the concerns of most Americans.
