The New York attorney general’s office has reportedly been criminally investigating Allen Weisselberg the chief financial officer of the Trump Organization for months over tax issues.
Any bets on whether they try to use accusations of anti-Semitism to distract and misdirect? Trump has said that he likes little men in yarmulkes doing his books. (Little did he realize that one would do and marry his daughter.) I mean, these are people who claimed that critics of Tim Scott are racist. Anyway, I hope this little man folds and throw his boss under the QM5 (which technically doesn’t get all the way up to Trump Tower, that would be the M5, but it works better for me.)
I think that’s the idea behind squeezing him, to get him to roll over and give his substantial knowledge of how Donnie did ‘business’ to the prosecutors.
A timeline should be compiled starting with T****'s escalator ride down announcing his run when Weisselberg probably started mentally crapping his pants of what might lay ahead.
A bracketed observation of mine from another thread
[“The Right is expert at using the S.O.P. of the Justice System to buy time to message for its followers and its enemies .”]
The Right is aware of the deliberation of LEO and the Justice System. They use that extra time needed by the latter to dot the “i’s” and cross the “t’s”.
PLUS, Trump is trained to talk, act and bluster the same way whether he is 10 months away from legal destruction, 10 weeks, 10 days or ten hours.
And…to some extent, the entire GOP has followed a lesser version of Trump’s M.O. since Reagan.
Now who would have thought that Allen Weisselberg would be investigated over taxes? Or that the Trump Organization in a criminal lawsuit? /s
It is almost like someone started following his money around, wondered where it all came from, where it all went, and they couldn’t see up for down, which started a civil investigation, then a criminal investigation.
Just shows how many surprises can happen if you follow the money.
I suspect Weisselberg never gave it a thought. The immunity from prosecution he and the rest of the staff thought they had disappeared the afternoon of the Biden Inauguration. They never thought, much as the Nazis did in the 1940s, they’d ever have to face the music. They all believed they had a 1000 year reign ahead of them. It was barely a thousand days.
