Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) is one of the most-watched members of Wednesday’s impeachment vote.
Who cares?
Why the drama over a turncoat? He’s just one (1) vote. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Dude. There’s no need to reevaluate your thoughts and your entire life. That’s something you do before you make a major announcement. You are putting the cart before the horse.
“Van Drew also reportedly tried to extract an assurance that he could keep his DCCC employees even if he changed parties…”
“Can’t we just put all that behind us and enjoy the Christmas Party?” Mr. Booth asked Mrs. Lincoln.
“All Eyes”? Dino is as dino does. This should goose his opposition campaign fund when the time comes.
Democrats don’t want you, Republicans don’t need you
Give it up baby, Putin can’t buy you love.
How stupid is this guy to get this far over his skies?
apologies to Elton John
This sleazy bastard is going to stay a D long enough to vote against impeachment so he can win a shitload of attaboy points from Spankee. Then he’ll switch saying he is no longer welcome as a D.
He will be right about only one thing. He is no longer welcome as a Democrat.
Too stupid to be a Democrat.
“All eyes on Van Drew” Really??? Why the hell does anyone care what this prick is doing? He is done as a Dem and I doubt the Repukes will want him when they can nominate a “real” Republican for 2020.
I can see many significant and painful moments to abandon a party you campaigned with and held office for. I have several Republican friends who have done so over the last few years and I admire their courage. It was tough to reevaluate their life and abandon what they had associated with when it became obviously wrong. I have some respect for Amash who left the GOP after being elected, though I still agree with him on very little. It bugs me that he is not being pointed to every time it is mentioned that this is completely partisan. There are reasons I could envision for leaving the Democratic Party because I am loyal to my principles not my party. The Democrats have not historically always shared all those principles, and someday the difference between the platform and my views might be great enough that I discontinue. If that was the case with Van Drew, I could have respect even if in disagreement, bit he is currently offering nothing as to a principled reason for the switch. His behavior seems self-interested and craven. I cannot respect that.
The only good ending for this piece of rubbish is if there comes to be a United Republic of Trump.
Today’s safety tip: Don’t burn the bridge while you’re still standing on it.
Missed a crucial vote, he definitely is becoming a Republican.
I thought I was the only one watching this dude. What’s his name?
He could be holding out on getting a free lifetime membership to Trump’s NJ golf club?
“When you got nothing you got nothing to lose”
This clown’s got nothing to lose because he lost it all in a political gambit. Now Dem’s don’t want him. GOP’ers don’t want him.
“Freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose”
He’s free to vote however he wants. He’s lost any chance of it being used against him.
Party affiliation and loyalty are artificial constructs. I find even the notion of citizenship weird. You are who you are, and don’t have to internalize labels. I vote progressive/liberal but hardly think of myself as a Democrat. I happen to believe many things Democrats believe, but appending a (D) to the end of my name is strange. I don’t join teams, or groups, or whatever, for the same reason. I’m not one of you, I’m me. I can see a GOPer re-examining their beliefs, but having to do it with the end game being an abandonment of identifying as a Republican, and having that abandonment causing them angst, is very odd.
