In an unusual “statement” Friday, Alito lectured critics of his decision to grant two interviews to a right-wing commentator, advocate, and attorney with a case before the high court.
Alito - I’m a man of integrity. When somebody pays for my decision they get what they pay for. I ask you, how can I deliver if I recuse? Get a brain! Morans.
Alito is just another entitled asshole. When the Dem.s gain back the House in 2024 they should impeach him just to embarrass him. Nobody gets removed by impeachment anymore but the Congress CAN let these assholes know what they think by voting for impeachment. Further, in Alito’s case, (unlike POTUS Biden), such a move is fully justified by “ the facts and the law” !
Looking forward to Roberts response to Senator Whitehouse’s brilliant letter sent last week clarifying congressional oversight of SCOTUS as defined by the constitution. (Crickets).
The good news is that Alito is leaving for future historians a voluminous and unambiguous record of just what a gigantic asshole he is. I see a future Library of Congress subject heading: Alito, Samuel–SCOTUS–assholes. Many dissertations.
This is grim stuff for people who actually like democracy. Can’t wait for a decision that redefines income in a way that further makes American aristocracy more permanently entrenched than it is already. You go, Sam! I have known privileged assholes like you my entire life - you are a great representative of the group. God bless you for speaking power to truth and always, always punching down.
Well, Mr. balls-and-strikes, by the time your “court” is done, your name will give mud a good one, and you and your smug buds will be among the most hated people in America. You’re well on your way.
Good news for those of us who live in San Francisco.
Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, who was the Democratic Party’s long-serving House leader and the first woman to hold the post, announced on Friday that she would seek re-election in 2024, ending months of speculation about her political future.
Since stepping down from leadership last year, Ms. Pelosi, 83, has kept people guessing about her plans. Many were surprised to see her stay in Congress, but she has relished her lower profile as a rank-and-file member with emeritus status, offering advice on an as-needed basis to her party’s new leadership team in the House. Some Democrats have speculated that she would leave Congress before the end of her term, potentially clearing the way for her daughter Christine Pelosi, a party activist and Democratic National Committee executive committee member, to run for her seat.
Ms. Pelosi has not shared her plans with anyone, but people close to her said that she ultimately decided to run again because she viewed it as an urgent priority to re-elect President Biden and help Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, the minority leader, become the next House speaker.
“Now more than ever, our city needs us to advance San Francisco values and further our recovery,” Ms. Pelosi said in announcing her plans. “Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for all.”
