Personally, I’m a Feuerbachian materialist, and don’t believe any of this supernatural hocus-pocus.
But Frankly, I don’t think at least 50% of so-called believers believe it either. They just pretend to. Their precious “faith” is just a kind of all purpose alibi, get-out-of-jail-free card, and stick to beat over the head those they want to harass.
2 things (Are you there txlawyer… ?).: 1. We have been surrounded by so many bad actors recently I fear we are growing numb. However, Israel has announced in real time that it is going to commit war crimes: but is justified in doing so. 2. What Hamas did was absolutely wrong and totally unjustified. I can understand the western powers stating that emphatically. However, where is the ‘And then we will…’? Where are the statements that we will totally support Israel’s right to defend itself and will then make aggressive actions toward the creation of a Palestinian state? There are none. The underlying message is that we will then turn away and allow to Israel to slowly but steadily oppress and eventually decimate the Palestinian population.
right, but I’m specifically talking about this case, not Cannon in general, who is clearly a hack. There was a short moment when there was a possibility the case would land with a different judge. Though we later found out that it was unlikely. But if it had gone to a different judge something might have come of it. Considering, you know, the mountains and mountains of incriminating evidence.
Aileen Cannon is both a partisan Rump lover and an utterly incompetent lawyer and judge. That she would be chosen for this case of the theft of classified documents is absolutely awful. She is entirely incapable of acting as a legal nonpartisan. As a judge, she is nothing but another part of the Rump defense. She should resign or be removed in shame. Anything beyond a dog at large case is beyond her competence and, even then, I suspect that if the dog belonged to a MAGA supporter and was caught redhanded, she would still support the MAGA owner.
First. @TPM_dk Truthfully, I suspect everyone here is happy to be supportive.
Second. @pluckyinky, sometimes fake it till you make it is OK as well. When you’re unable to comprehend the changes in your life anything that gives you the illusion of “normal” is emotionally welcome. Along with that illusion though you should bear in mind that it is probably just that, an illusion. Support from friends and co-workers can help hold you together until you come to your new normal.
Lastly.
Does everyone remember “Government isn’t the solution, government is the problem.” They still think that, and everyday they’re trying to prove themselves right. If you change it to “A GOP led government isn’t the solution, a GOP led government is the problem,” they’ve already achieved the victory condition.
