After Railing Against Science, Trump Wants To Be Remembered As ‘The Father Of The Vaccine’ | Talking Points Memo

I think it personally hurt Trump and the GOP that Biden took a swipe at Trump’s obvious failures and the public agrees with him. One of the best things about Biden’s first 100 days is that we don’t feel any need to be charitable to Trump while working towards a brighter future.

Why is the former guy going so small? Why not claim it would have taken 100 years and cost a trillion lives if not for him? He’s losing it in his old age.

So I’d guess Trump watched Biden’s address last night.

Will all those little baby republicans who don’t want to get the vaccine now get one because daddy said so?

Because it didn’t exist.

Your derangement knows no bounds.

He’s just going to get ever more pathetic. Gollum looks at Trump and just shakes his head sadly at how low people will sink.

They don’t love Trump, they love the IDEA of Trump, which is nothing more than a middle finger…

No, no, your Imperial Majesty - as always, you are too modest. Your loyal subjects already think of you as the father of the entire pandemic!

That Trump had any personal role to play in the development of the vaccine is obvious bullshit. The vaccine was essentially ready to roll out for testing in February 2020, even before cases in the US started being identified en masse (due to the unprecedented sharing of information by the medical community).

All Trump did was sign authorizations to bypass the normal schedule of testing prior to approval to distribute to the general public. As Josh noted weeks ago, this was certainly something Trump can put on his resume but it was not a risky gamble that he boldly took. It was a simple bureaucratic step, one which all his President and Prime Minister peers in the world community did in their nations.

@#$% whiny child…

“I did the vaccine.”

Pfizer and Moderna did the vaccine within a couple days of the genome sequence being released, well before this moron acknowledged the existence of a disease that has killed upwards of 600,000 Americans.

In Biden’s address he did point out that our Allies stated that they are happy with the changes coming in with him at the Helm.

“But for how long?” said the Allies…

In this latest Trump abomination of lies, we can see what awaits us if we falter.

That and I don’t think Trump ever wanted to be the father of anything or anyone, and it shows.

“And look, I guess in a certain way I’m the father of the vaccine because I was the one that pushed it. To get it done in less than nine months was a miracle,” he added.

After his remarks, Trump walked across a pond and turned some golf balls into loaves of bread.

Pretty much.

And the original work was done …

And even she’s not calling herself “the mother of the vaccine.”
