Conservative commentator and ex-“Wheel of Fortune” host Chuck Woolery, from whom President Donald Trump retweeted an unhinged post accusing health experts of “lying” about COVID-19, deleted his Twitter account after revealing that his son had gotten infected with the virus.
I am very sorry this has happened to his family, but the sympathy I might’ve expressed for him evaporated when he issued the original tweet.
He gets, now, to join the several other stories I have heard in the last several weeks about COVID deniers loudly broadcasting their denial and now they’re dead from the virus.
As I am prepared to say to those who challenge me on wearing a mask: there are some 130,000 people who really wish they still had the option to wear a mask, but now they’re dead. I don’t wish to join them on their path.
“To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here,” the conservative firebrand tweeted. “My son tested positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones.”
So he is clarifying that he was just making up shit before. And ‘conservative firebrand’ should be changed to ‘flaming asshole’.
I hope his kid is OK, recovers soon, and tells his father what a dope he is.
He’s only a 9 our of 10 on the batshit crazy meter.
10/10 is reserved for conservatives who continue to claim covid is a lie and continue to rail against masks after they or someone close to them are infected with the virus.
