Time to go. Next is Amy K. who should pair with Biden. That would be a winning combination.

I knew there was a reason I got only six emails from them today. Now I’m kind of sorry I voted early.

Bye Pete.
Please release your delegates to Biden.
You said in debate, B.S. M4A numbers add up to four more years of Trump.
We also don’t need the down ballot carnage B.S. would bring as nominee.

I bummed because I voted for him this morning. I normally vote on election day but Los Angeles county switched to “voting centers” instead of precincts and wanted to avoid a long line.
:disappointed:

At 38 years old, showing he knows when to quit is yet another positive. He has still has lots of time to run for Senate or, actually, for work as Secretary of State – I found his grasp of geopolitics to be very impressive during the debates.

He had a good run, he got name recognition, he’s capable of a place in a Dem administration and young enough to try it again, even in 8 years. Or some other kind of race, Senate, etc. So good for him.

It’s not his time. He needs more experience in more senior positions. Run for Senate or Governor, create some legislation, build a network by getting out on the Dems banquet circuit in support of Dems in close races. Build your brand, boy.

I agree. Her replacement would be appointed by a Democratic governor. Minnesota would most likely elect a Democrat to replace her in a special election.

Time to get with the Program. I would be very surprised if Pete would endorse Bernie or his voters would (but things can happen–like Nov 2016).

The endorsements from those who are actual Democrats ** should flow a little more quickly.

**and those of any party who still want a country and a Planet

Yeah, I voted on Tuesday with two demographically comparable friends (except they are male), and we were all going back and forth between Pete and Klobuchar. At least they opted for Klobuchar.

But it shows how important early voting is. A hell of a lot more people have already voted in the Super Tuesday states than in South Dakota, or, for that matter, in all of the states that have voted so far.

Pete is a great debater and a very tough out. He beat Bernie in 1 home game and tied him in another. He over performed his polling. His supporters never moved.

I applaud this decision for the good of the party and the country. I hope his supporters will vote for Joe Biden. I have said before and will say so again that I think he deserves to be on the VP short list. He has earned it. There is a great synergy between him and Biden as both are decent, sensible individuals. Both know what service to country means. His campaign was historic and I do hope the Berners will lighten up and stop challenging the IA result. Pete won. It’s a moment in history. Our party should be proud that it had no qualms about voting for and strongly considering an openly gay American for President.

That’s a shame. I liked him. I would have voted for him here in Michigan. He’s smart and he’s a decent person. We need more of that kind in Washington, at any level.

Smart move, he had no real Path. Klobuchar should drop out as well.

Bloomberg should too but, since he bet everything on Super Tuesday, kind of hard to drop now.

He’s got a good future hope to see him running for something else soon

My hometown paper SF Chron has endorsed her, and Veep would work for me along with Harris as AG, Warren at HHS. It would give Biden so much to brag about.

Warren is next. What’s the hold-up?

He’s a ferociously talented guy and we need him in public life. It doesn’t have to be elective. I could easily see him as one of those people who keep turning up in high-profile appointed roles because they can cut the gig better than anyone else the appointers can think of. But yes, he’d be a great representative, Senator, or president. Same with people like Beto, Stacey Abrams, Andrew Gillum—stay in touch, gang. There’s a lot of rebuilding we’ll need to do down the road.

The timing was superb. And relatively selfless. Years from now, if we can topple Trump, the timing of Pete’s departure will rank with Elliott Richardson and his Deputy.

Every day that we had let Sanders accumulate more power from a divided field was a day wasted on getting the widely diverse elements of the Democratic Coalition on Board against the most dangerous organization the United States has ever produced:

The Modern Republican Party

I remember back in 1976 when Jerry Brown ran and then was obliged to drop out of the race. I forget which pundit said it, it was noted that he could run again in 20 years and still be younger than most candidates. That’s certainly true of this years crop of candidates.
