Israel Knew Hamas’s Attack Plan Over a Year Ago - The New York Times (archive.is)
sraeli officials obtained Hamas’s battle plan for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack more than a year before it happened, documents, emails and interviews show. But Israeli military and intelligence officials dismissed the plan as aspirational, considering it too difficult for Hamas to carry out.
The approximately 40-page document, which the Israeli authorities code-named “Jericho Wall,” outlined, point by point, exactly the kind of devastating invasion that led to the deaths of about 1,200 people.
The translated document, which was reviewed by The New York Times, did not set a date for the attack, but described a methodical assault designed to overwhelm the fortifications around the Gaza Strip, take over Israeli cities and storm key military bases, including a division headquarters.

I’m doing my best to ignore that story, so I’ll just say since she’s not going to come out of it looking any better. She’s probably going to resign as president to “spend more time with her family.” Or any family not her own.

When a major state newspaper’s social media account goes out of its way to do to you what it does to one of that state’s US senators, you just might see that as a sign of how much you’re disliked in that state.

I was wondering what makes the Israel-Palestine problem so depressing. Perhaps the reason is that there is no potential ‘happy ending’. For example, as dire as the current situation in Ukraine is, there is an imaginable happy ending: Ukraine becomes a prosperous, western-aligned democracy. However, there is really no credible happy ending for the Israel-Palestine conflict. If history is any judge, after Israel succeeds in reducing the entire Gaza strip to rubble, the future will look even more bleak. The status of the Palestinians in both the Gaza strip and the West Bank will likely continue to deteriorate, and after the destruction it has caused, Israel will probably be forced to become an increasingly oppressive occupier to damp down a radicalized Palestinian population.

FYI…
Boots used to live next door with some college kids who were renting. When they moved out they abandoned Boots. He checked us out and then adopted us as his new home base. He loves to torment the birds in our front yard that’s sort of a sparrow apartment complex in our large saguaro cacti. We are happy Boots adopted us. I do not hold with animal cruelty.

Trump earlier on Thursday disseminated social media posts falsely attributed to the wife of New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, based on blog posts by far-right influencer and known conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer. The ex-InfoWars contributor screenshot social media posts from a since-shuttered account with the name “Dawn Marie” on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Loomer presented no evidence that the account belonged to Engoron’s wife, who denied it was hers — and told Newsweek that she never had an account on that social media platform. New York’s court system officially corroborated that on Thursday.
