Although the only thing truly predictable about the situation is that Stephen Miller is salivating and creaming his tidy-whities at the prospects, I fear Africa is going to become an unmitigated disaster.

You have yet to hear much about the impacts of COVID-19 in developing countries. Africa has 54 countries with about 1.2 billion people. I would argue that Africa will likely be a mitigated disaster from the public health standpoint. There have been many projects on public health, in part because that is the area where donors get the biggest bang for their buck. Just look at many of the Gates Foundation initiatives. Moreover, if the secret to resisting virus turns out to be having an innate robust immune system, this could turn out to be a first-world disease. On the other hand, a lot of infrastructure is informal or ad hoc, so a breakdown could cause famine or economic hardship and political instability.

Is that anything like having an extra muscle in the thigh so the race excels at sports?
