A cagey Trump administration arrived at court Thursday, where a judge presided over the early stages of a lawsuit stemming from a March executive order mandating that proof of citizenship be added to federal voting forms. As soon as the hearing began, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly began grilling the Justice Department’s Michael Gates. The administration said,…
Are Administration attorneys ever going to get sanctioned for spouting flat out bullshit in court?
“I don’t know whose hand the whiny Democrats claim to have seen in the cookie jar, but it most certainly wasn’t the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful President Trump’s hand. The spray tan residue on the jar proves nothing!”
After how many deaths caused by Trump’s odious actions will be calling them murder?
It’'s lies, you are too kind.
Come on. We are ALL smarter than these idiots. They are running on hate, not brains. I still believe brains will win.
“The increasingly incredulous judge asked whether Gates truly believed that gathering the input of the states and describing the executive order as an ‘instruction’ was not starting the process of implementation.”
“Yes, your honor,” Gates replied. “We have not started the process. We are still at the stage of facilitating the process.”
Facilitating, not effectuating. Can’t you see the difference, Your Honor?
How long before there’s another EO declaring that all voters must re-resister to vote?
As an aside I think I remember registering to vote, when I was eligible, but since I still live at the same address as way back then, and they can see where I have voted lo these many, many decades…such a f*cking waste of time.
A second aside. This checking on the checking on the already eligible voters is going to cost a pretty penny. Where’s the money coming from?
Why does the orange face even want the voter rolls? For what purpose? Oh, wait, silly me. He just wants them because he said he wants them.
a March executive order mandating that proof of citizenship be added to federal voting forms.
They are state voting forms, and the federal government has no authority over how voting is done in the states.
Trump shouldn’t have been on some state ballots last election.
Only ballot he should be on is Miss Popularity of Cellblock D.
The judge I worked for would have a lot to say about the attorneys pretending to not know what their responsibilities were when they appeared in the courtroom. On one occasion she gave me the Rules of Court to give to an attorney to read because he did not serve a defendant in a timely manner. He sat in the back of the courtroom and never opened the Rules.
He really said “facilitate” in open court. Let the record reflect that he didn’t blush, roll his eyes, or look at the ceiling.
So, according to the Orange Zombie regime’s understanding of “facilitate” nothing is being done or likely to be done. Case dismissed!
Also, irony is well and truly dead.
The Trump Method™: Stiff the contractors for services rendered.
Sorry, that was me being sarcastic.
See how you are! I totally believed it. But I’m going to leave my reply up because I thought it was witty.
The President, and all of the Executive Branch, have zero authority over how the states run their elections. Per the Constitution, the Congress may impose regulations and/or restrictions on how the states run their elections, but the President has absolutely no say. More, the Congress may not transfer that power to the President, or to anybody else, unless the Constitution is first amended to permit it.
I have no idea why that hasn’t, at least to my knowledge, been brought up by Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, as cause to invalidate Trump’s EO, with prejudice.
I am sensing a MAGA moment, make attorneys get attorneys?

have no idea why that hasn’t, at least to my knowledge, been brought up
There’s quite a lot that never seems to be brought up everywhere. I don’t see why judges don’t simply read the pertinent parts of the Constitution out loud in court, followed by “Get the fuck out of here.”
We have all these pissing contests in the courts and everywhere else, in which one side is not arguing in good faith and everyone knows it. It’s driving me nuts. They’re lying. They’re making shit up. They’re criminals. Stop parsing around that, because everyone, especially them, knows it’s true.
