The governor of Illinois compared the federal government’s response to COVID-19 to the “Hunger Games” on Wednesday, saying the competition between states for vital supplies contributed to unnecessary deaths.

Trump does not care. He says “go ahead and die, I am not responsible”

TPM’s system is very hinky today. I bet it is a trump DNS attack

The person responsible for this will be described to millions upon millions of people by Mary Trump. Starting…well…now.
The man is crazy.
It’s like saying that a murderer is in charge of public health. The nature and forms of sadistic evil need to be made widely known…and, quite frankly, it will come down to who supports evil or not.

donald trump wants to kill your children so that he can get reelected
Generally I don’t go for hyperbole but this is no joke. trump wants schools open with in class students so he can crow about normality.and use that to get reelected.

What’s useful here is characterizing the situation as “sick.” That’s exactly what it is. Thank you Governor Pritzker.

“We were in a bidding war for life-saving supplies against each other, and against our international allies,” Pritzker said. “In the midst of a global pandemic, states were forced to play some sort of sick, ‘Hunger Games’ game show to save the lives of our people. Let me be clear, this is not a reality TV show.”
“Some sort of sick, Hunger Games”. Ouch! This reality TV president’s base should be able to understand that image.

Everyone in my family is either a teacher or a student. The thought of opening up school is terrifying. High school will be a hybrid of on-line and in school instruction. Son and I discussed having Thanksgiving on Zoom.

Mrs darr does her job from home thankfully. And I hope my grand son does his 6th grade from home as well. Education can be made up. Death gives no second option. I hate trump. He is putting my family at risk for his personal gain. And his supporters and opponents do nothing while he risks our children for his own personal needs.

You too. Educational institutions may be one of the easiest ways to ensure that the virus spreads out of control. Dog help us.

Pritzker concluded with a list of priorities for the administration, including a national testing and contact-tracing strategy, funding for localities that have lost revenue during the pandemic, “clarity on insurance coverage for COVID-19 testing” and funding for the National Guard as it prepares for a potential second wave.
To which Trump and his GOP enablers will proudly wave the 10th Amendment flag and proclaim that it is the duty of each state to protect its own citizens. They will also make it clear that insurance coverage is at the sole discretion of the insurance company and that the government has no right or authority to interfere with free market capitalism.
