Pssst. (Soto Voce). Doc. Adams is not an epidemiologist.

Not being a medical expert or anything close but it sounds like this administration did what we here would have expected, they did it ass backwards. Shouldn’t there have been knowledge out first to mitigate the spread, and then work on containment?

And another thought is that Trump makes is money by having people leave their homes and spend it at his properties. So down playing the seriousness of the situation means that he kept the money flowing into his coffers. Is he that cash strapped that he endangered all of us to keep himself afloat?

Messaging isn’t that hard when you tell the truth and not worry about how it makes someone look

Time to pay attention not just to confirmed cases, but the numbers of Americans who have been tested. Otherwise, we have no sense of the known unknown here.

It wouldn’t have stopped anything, it only would have given time to stockpile needed supplies. And given states and communities time to find and dust off their binder of emergency plans.

Are there technically compentent people managing this, and do they have the authority to do what their professional judgement guides them to do?

Nothing that we have heard (or not heard) from Adams, Fauci, Redfield, Pence, Azar, or Carson gives any indication that this is the case.

Countries rated as to response to the virus - China with the best response, Iran the worse, and Italy next to worst. Estimates usually put the US between Italy and Iran. Due to Britain’s ongoing austerity program, they are quite unprepared so it could get pretty bad there.

“Messaging is hard” especially if you are forced to tell the truth which is why Trump lies all the time.

There are aggressive ways to deal with this and Trump’s Administration (the one which is reality-altering) is the worst possible one that we should have…

Yeah they’re screwed. But BoJo will just keep calm and lie.

Don’t you mean Don Adams as in Maxwell Smart?

It would have been able to severely restrict the spread. It’s not the first thing we’ve dealt with. With things like ebola, we’ve seen that the earlier you intervene, the easier it is to keep it contained.

Instead, keeping the public largely in the dark about what was going on for a month has allowed it to hit basically everywhere, with containment no longer achievable. Now all we can do is mitigate the fallout.

Like how he stressed that communities have to deal with this. I suppose he’s implying the federal government has more important things to do than take action to mitigate a fatal pandemic.None of these surrogates seem to have much idea what the federal responsibility is here or what’s been done or what’s going to be done in the near future. Just a bunch of fan-dancing.

Is it true every bottle of Purell is coming with a warning saying, “Caution. The Surgeon General has determined this Administration is hazardous to your health”, along with a picture of an orange clown…or is that just an Internet thing I saw somewhere?
