Talk about a GOP wet dream…

I don’t even want to think about how racist America will view (and propagandize) the virus in the light of this. The heartlessness will exponentially increase.

And you sir, are complicit in all of this. You have been lying not leading for three months. You went along with Trump, while Trump downplayed this, while he failed to prepare you were being a fascist boot-licker for the narcissist and took no action. When Nancy Messiner was sidelined, you said nothing.

Sorry, your “concern” is a little late to save your reputation, you sold your soul to the devil…

And P.s. the reason why African Americas are a higher risk of contracting the virus, is that they tend to work in Jobs where they are more exposed (much of the health care, and home health care staff is african-american, and African-americans work in high numbers in service sector jobs with public facing exposure) AND they have higher rates of underlying conditions, the result of poverty and lack of equal opportunity. But I don’t see you saying anything about these issues.

Your comments - by not firmly IDing the problem, and suggesting or implying there might be a genetic issue - which does not exist - just makes things worse.

Don’t worry they’ll toss out the Blacks for Trump guy from his rallies and Diamond and Silk aka Coal and Burlap to claim that they care.

Dr. King was precient as usual.
“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman”.

Yes, I really need to give up trying to post on the internet using my I-pad. Apple auto-correct was invented by Satan.

“number one: people unfortunately are more likely to be of low socioeconomic status,”

he continued:

“Which I endorse and enforce by adhering to the party of racism and institutionalized oppression.”

I think that this is what Republicans used to call 'playing the race card" - but is now ’ Rich and powerful people are the true victims here."

Ummmm… You do realize that he’s part of the Public Health Service, which is one of our uniformed Services… He’s not a party shill.

I think you mean satin.

I do. And I think he hasn’t been vocal enough. He ought to be ripping the lid off the supply chain shenanigans. Sorry, I don’t trust anyone hired by this administration.

He’s the Surgeon General, a 3-Star General. Not a hire, an appointment, just like the Generals in the regular military.

I’m open to being corrected - but isn’t surgeon general a political appointment?

Adams needs to go full C.Everett Koop who as Surgeon General under Reagan did a admirable job with intense opposition from those in the administration educating the nation about HIV. Even Ted Kennedy who was a skeptic when he was appointed came to effusively praise him.

It’s not a political appointment in the sense of other appointments/nominations, the Public Health Service, while being one of the least-known of the uniformed services, is a legitimate uniformed service. The Surgeon General serves a 4-year term, just like the Surgeon Generals of the Army, Navy and Air Force do. The process for all General Officers does involve the president nominating someone, so in that sense, yes.

Today he became the Surgeon General?

Is that a good thing…or a bad thing?
We’ve seen the courage of Kelly and Mattis. More of the same?

Jerome Adams is a senate-confirmed appointee just like any other cabinet member. Prior to his current gig he was Indiana’s State Health Commissioner, under Pence.
