Activist: Constituents Blocked From GOP PA Rep’s Public Town Hall

When Kathleen Keadan, a leader of local activist organization Capital Region Indivisible, found out that Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) was holding a public town hall on Tuesday — only the second she said that he has held since 2017 — she and her fellow members eagerly registered to take part.

Per Roll Call, the venue could hold 200 people — and only about 60 were let in.

Anybody want to guess how many of those 60 were “undercover” Perry staffers, die-hards and security?

That and known supporters. Congressman Perry, your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. What makes you so popular?

“This whole preregistering game is just a deterrent.”

And that, folks, is how this House recess is going to go - those that care about their constituents will hold open sessions; those that don’t will eliminate any ‘bad actors’ that would call them out on the support for the Big Orange.

It’s a recess alright - no class.

There you have it.

I included the known supporters as “die-hards.” It is little more than a death cult, after all.

Try having a Republican Representative that has never held a public in person town hall since she took office in 2013.

Her supporters blame the “left” for her not having a town hall, which is BS. She never held one in the previous two years when Trump was first elected, and never ever when Pres. Obama was in office.

These Reps are all busy doing the people’s business. How dare the people think that means the Reps should be accessible to people to find out what the people think?! Sounds pretty socialist to me.

This guy’s a combat air veteran but he’s scared of a tough question. Literally walls them out. Boy, it’s tough without that gerrymandering, huh, pal? Bet he talks a lot about the feminization of the culture and the courage it takes these days to be a “patriot.” You know, I’d be scared to fly a helicopter in combat but I’m damn sure not afraid to argue with people.

My “representative” is using a similar pre-registration and scheduled it far away from his Dem constituents. I can’t go but it will be interesting to see if they have similar problems

I just checked and it is"sold out". The meeting is tomorrow.

Its interesting how these so-called “public servants” who are members of the “Freedom Caucus” work so hard to deny some of their constituents the freedom to attend their rallies and town halls.

In a way this might be a good thing.

  • Piss off your constituency even more.

  • Turn your back on the blue tsunami.

“If I can’t gerrymander my district, I will gerrymander my ‘public’ town halls.”

Look at how many of his constituents this nutter has just alienated. How many people will they tell about what happened. This is so ridiculous. I thought town halls were for everyone and not just registering some people so you can control the situation. What a lily livered nincompoop.
