Former President Trump’s longtime accounting firm has cut ties with Trump and his companies, according to a Monday court filing from New York Attorney General Letitia James.
This made my Monday, and probably week unless Putin fucks things up even more.

I learned as a lawyer working in a mid-sized firm that there’s virtually no conflict of interest that can’t be waived in the interest of retaining a client’s business. There must really be a fire raging in the dumpster under all this smoke in order to Mazars to boot their client of many years.
Mazars is like a bookie who has come to the conclusion the horse they were pushing is lame and they’re trying to cut their losses before anyone tries to call them on the bullshit.
Yeah, and that reminds me of how CEO Ken Lay escaped all accountability for his company’s crimes by dying while his case was under appeal.
“A non-waivable conflict of interest with the Trump Organization” means “We are not going down in flames with you.”
Would you say that even with cutting ties, there may be professional liability on the part of Mazars? This “may” make them more cooperative, but will they escape either legal or professional sanctions??

Which took down Enron’s accountants, then one of the world’s leading firms, with it. Genuine question: are we supposed to believe that Mazars didn’t know Trump was lying regularly and serially? Like, for example, they didn’t know that Trump tripled the square footage of his own apartment in order to claim triple ($300 mil) its actual market value? How is Mazars not in big trouble now? Or are they?
