She’d taken abortion pills and encountered a rare complication; she had…

This is what happens when idiot politicians write legislation where they don’t care the long term impact.

They were not qualified to write this policy. They disregarded the need for a thorough explanation as to the standard that needed to be met. They had a concept of a plan.

That this young black woman was a victim and her child is left behind is just another unfortunate incident legislated to torment women. That she is a POC for them is even better and is something they can just write off and ignore.

Her State will re-elect every one of the legislators that wrote her death warrant.

Collateral campaign damage is how JD Vance and his ilk would discribe her. She died because God wanted her to die is how irresponsible Evangelicals would describe her death. God’s punishment is how right wing Catholics would soothe their own culpability .

Negligent homicide is how the Georgia Courts should describe the death when making the coming award to her dependant child.

That’s just a sad story, that women should still be alive to take care of her son. It’s not pro-life for someone to die like that, it’s not good for her family or her son. And, you can be sure that the doctors had interventions from someone to keep them from doing something…if you’re a doctor and a woman is obviously infected internally you don’t sit on your hands and wait to see if it will clear up, you dig out whatever the infection cause is and dump antibiotics into it.

This is what was intended by all of these laws though…Republicans want to punish women for having sex, and if some die due to complications then, well, that’s the point for them. I would not at all be surprised if this is used by them as an example of how dangerous abortion pills are and why they should be banned…they really are that horrible as people.

So angry I could spit. What a mess. A completely avoidable mess. The cruelty is the point.

Tragic, enraging and avoidable. I know they didn’t ask for this fight, but doctors need to step up and strike before they enter into negligent homicide territory.

I would hope that at some point that there will be a lawsuit over these egregious failures and that the legislators are named defendants - for practicing medicine without a license.

If I read this right D & C was outlawed? That is a routine procedure used to evacuate the uterine lining and infection, placental remnants and endometrium if present. It is a common means of abortion too but in the case above abortion was not the issue. The fetus had already been expelled.

Amy needs to face this. She and her Bros on the SCOTUS killed this young lady. It was possible in Dobbs to add language that would have restricted such extreme measures to control a woman’s uterus. Abortion…OK but the full scope of a woman’s reproductive capabilities…no. She did not demand this. Amy you own this.

Two weeks later, Thurman was dead.

So, we’re choosing life, but Republicans are insisting on death.

And that satisfies their religious ideology?

Helpful reminder …

“They tell you that there’s a war on women. There is no war on women. There may be a war on what’s inside of women, but there is no war on women in this country.”

Unless you have carefully saved all your effluvium*, you don’t really know what has or hasn’t been expelled. Don’t fall into this right-wing thought trap. Ideologically based distinctions don’t work in real life.

'* many of us don’t save a bloody mess when miscarrying; you just sit on the toilet like normal. My doctor berated me for not saving bits.

This both enraged and saddened me. This young mother was allowed to die due to confusion, lack of protocols and fear of imprisonment. It was preventable and the Georgia politicians who passed the law and Brian Kemp are responsible for her death. Her life was meaningless to them.

As the reporter suggested, there is no doubt this is happening in other states with abortion bans. I am sick to my stomach.

Treatment straight out of the tax-free fundamentalist church.

Every single culture war is being perpetuated by the same churches that started the Civil War.

The twins he got famous for being an evangelical black man for separating lived a short an painful life afterwards and were utterly forgotten directly.

He was elevated for being born-again. They are that deep in the culture of our country and they are that powerful.

Horrific. No regard for human life including the developing fetus.

If you are old like me, you remember before Roe, when every hospital had an “abortion ward” for botched abortions usually performed by “Backroom Butchers”.

While I was only 14 when Roe was decided, I and everyone else my age knew someone or someone’s sister who had died from a back ally abortion.

In my opinion, outlawing abortion is literally grabbing every woman by the pussy.

As a father to daughters, as a son to a mother, as a brother to sisters and now as a grandfather to granddaughters, YES, it absolutely makes my blood boil.

If these politicians want to play doctor, they should go to Medical School.
