Little Boots really does consider himself to be the God-Emperor of FloriDUH
Agree on that.
There’s another thing, though–They pass these bullshit laws, never thinking they will be turned right around on them, and then are shocked when that happens.
That’s genius level stuff right there.
May the DeSantis government find itself hoist on its own petard. It will be a huge lift to reach the 60% threshold to pass amendment 4, and the effort will turn out voters who will turn FL more blue. For Harris/Walz and the Senate. Wishing the good people of FL all the best.
Someone I am close to was raped by a police officer on her way home from work when she was a young adult. She was on her way home from work well after dark. He made it clear that (1) he had stalked her and (2) knew who her immediate family were. He told her that if she reported the rape he would kill her family members, and it wouldn’t do any good because he was a policeman and she was just a girl working at a restaurant.
I didn’t learn about this until years later. She believed his threats and remained silent to protect her family and friends. In those days serotyping was all that was available, and while the negative predictive value of serotyping is 100%, (if it says ‘that can’t be the perpetrator’, it is right) but its positive predictive value is awful, and dependent on the serotype found.
Another friend from my college days was impregnated by what might be considered ‘date rape’ today. Back in the 1970s that wasn’t even a thing. When she told her then-boyfriend she was pregnant his reply was, “How do you know it’s mine?” She decided to have an abortion, which fortunately was available under circumstances better than those outlined by Richard Brautigan. (I only know about this because she was my bench partner in a couple of bio and chem labs and she needed a ride to the appointment and someone to take her home afterward.)
Rape is under-reported for all manner of reasons. I’m with you: requiring a police report to ‘justify’ an abortion is unreasonable.
Yes.
Although, the pic accompanying today’s article looks as if he has just discovered he’s been whacked over the head with a cartoon mallet. JMO
Looking for signs of desperation from the Rs. FL attacks on Amendment 4 (first the petition signers, then the press) smell like desperation, maybe?
As a short person, I want to remind everyone that tall people can also be “little shits,” too.
There’s pretty good evidence in the South African karst caves that the idea, “I didn’t think the face-eating leopard would eat my face,” dates back to the Australopithicines.
FL is stuck with DeSantis as governor until 2026, but he will be ineligible to run again. He’s basking in his power for as long as he has it. Don’t see a future for him after that, but hey, it’s the GOP.
Or don’t have the money to fight the government. Local media are not rolling in dough.
Heh. At least.
Noted!

He thinks,n in his subconscious, there’s something wrong with himself, and he thinks it’s his height.
Hahahaha, what a maroon.
