My administration is deeply committed to the constitutional right established in Roe v. Wade nearly five decades ago and will protect and defend that right,”

“Let’s make something very clear: rape is a crime and Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets,” Abbott said.

Texas wasn’t already doing this?

I’ve run out of words to express my revulsion of the cruelty Abbott is trying to pass off as “governance”.

…and making sure the victims are forced to carry proof of the crime to term…

So, is Abbott going to go Minority Report, here? Otherwise, how do you prevent rape by arresting rapists?

Abbott, like most men, doesn’t have the slightest idea how women’s health works.

Lady parts confuse and frighten him.

Well he got the census data, which to him was a Minority Report… this is why we have the new voter oppression law

First you round up everyone with the middle name “Wayne”. That’s guaranteed to weed a few out of the populace. A few of any crime you care to name, actually.

Why do men in power who have no clue about the basic biology of conception and pregnancy have a voice in this matter?

Women, their doctors and loved ones are the ONLY ones who should make that very personal choice. Neither government nor religious leaders should have a voice in what is medically best for pregnant women.

I too have little idea… which is why I think we should leave such things to… well… women

I believe the term is pregnant women, not pregnant people.
If pregnancy had anything to do with men, this would not be an issue.
Repeat after me, pregnant women.

Well do we give Abbott points for not reusing Aikns’ " If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."
Naw, Abbott is still clueless.

Funny how the GQP is now the pro-abortion party.

Since any rape survivor will want to immediately take Plan B, because she has so limited other options and no time to decide.

Which means that many potential babies who might otherwise have been born despite the circumstances will end up murdered at Abbott’s hands.

Further proof that Governor Abbott is a total asshole and idiot. Too bad he can’t get pregnant and need an abortion.

Most of the time.

All pregnant women are in fact people, all pregnant people might not identify as a women.
