Good.
Maybe that will finally convince the GOP in Wisconsin to shut the damned State down instead of having our counts increase in the high hundreds every damned day (yesterday, Wisconsin had its first 1,000 confirmeds day).
A local restaurant here in town that is extremely popular and may’ve been at the forefront of the premature reopening reported this today:
Real talk.
Was just notified of an employee that tested positive. [Restaurant name at] exit one the main location will be closed until I meet with the health department and they give me the go-ahead to reopen. I don’t know if that’s going to be 2 days, a week or whatnot. The employee started the show symptoms on Friday and left. We have a log that staff fills out before and after every shift including temperature checks. At this moment it is isolated. I do have a covid response nurse that will be interviewing each staff member for testing. We will also be sanitizing the place with the same company we use before within the next 48 hours. I can assure you that no guests were within 6 ft of this employee for more than 15 minutes. That is what the department of health asked me.
The exit 4 staff as most you know is different than exit one. So exit 4 will remain open to serve you delicious food.
No matter how hard one tries you just cannot control everything. Though I’m told not to feel like a failure I feel like I am.
This message may seem rough because I’m not going to wait for an attorney to write something pretty up for everyone I wanted you to hear it from me personally.
I will keep you posted.
Thank you.
I want to feel bad for him, because this will be an expensive venture, between the lost revenue for a minimum of five days, possible employee loss (because they can’t afford to be out for an extended period), and the nature of the deep cleaning that I’ve seen referred to with other establishments. It’s not cheap.
But at the same time, his servers didn’t wear masks, his staff didn’t wear masks. Their establishment has all indoor seating - nothing outdoors. No seating restrictions - no six feet between.
It feels self-inflicted and is an indictment of the State (because of the GOP and SC that refuse to let the governor lead) and the local government which is still pussy-footing around with whether a local mandate should be put in place. Yeah, the mayor was just re-elected and is GOP.
Now with MN going to a statewide mask mandate, we’re looking forward to those living on the border to run rampant in our town. Anyone want to guess what’s gonna happen next?
