A Spooky Halloween With Peter Thiel and the Antichrist

[Essay] A Gothic Telling of Peter Thiel’s Rivalry With The Antichrist Peter Thiel seems determined to associate himself with the Antichrist. For years now, the venture capitalist has been making headlines with his private, off-the-record lecture series on the subject and with bizarro podcast appearances — such as when he struggled to answer Ross Douthat’s…

Shorter? Thiel is suicidal and muses about taking the world with him? Implicit in considering that you yourself might be the AntiChrist.

That one tech mogul has scrambled his brains is mostly ridiculous. That there were quite a number willing to listen to this crap without cracking up is terrifying

In the 19th century, before tv and TPM, people had seances and phrenology, a phony science of reading head contours. This was all very serious business, with people even leaving legacies to spiritual mediums as thanks for helping with communications with the spirit world. The Antichrist is a symbolic character from a book of the bible that was almost omitted. There is no Antichrist and never will be. It’s just a made-up story that requires a Jesus as protagonist. The real dangers facing mankind are bad actors who prey on the ignorance, stupidity, greed and fears of people. Oligarchs distract as they pick your pocket. They’ll buy the newspaper, digital platform or tv network, and close down your libraries, school systems and universities, while gaining unfair market dominance over the information sphere. Peter Thiel is just a creepy guy recycling Moldbug’s dark enlightenment narratives justifying his efforts to dismantle democratic institutions.

In Dostoevsky’s “the Idiot”, a character is introduced, who tells us that his hobby is “interpreting Revelation”:""the star called Wormwood that poisons the waters “is the European railway network..”
That this character is a shallow immoral conniver becomes clear as the novel moves forward. General Epanchin is entirely willing to sell out Natashia Fillipovna like a pimp.
Thus Dostoevsky tells us that such interpretation, of this book, which was written as a coded slam at the Roman Empire and its emperor Nero, is itself a scam.
Jung talked about it as a set of symbols that, like astrology, you project meaning onto: and your interpretation tells us something about the person doing the projection. Just nothing about the end times…
I have heard preachers and laymen my whole life
giving interpretations of Revelation that are for their own benefit. Thiel is distinguished from these people solely by his wealth.
You may know they are frauds and fools when they start bringing out interpretations of what Martin Luther called “a right scurvy book”.

Thiel is powerful, sinister, self aware AF, and too cute by half. The Book of Revelations is low-end Christianity from third century drama queens. It makes a useful rhetorical cover for a German from South Africa with American citizenship but a dicey view of other human beings and their value.

I imagine a money is no object highly exclusive dope supplier could make Thiel very happy out there in lotus land. It’s not like he has any remote grasp of reality to lose.

I was blown away by the DoJ’s brazen response to the judge. “Go ahead, charge us with criminal contempt. We’ll be pardoned.” You’re not the boss of me now!

Basically telling the judge that her orders were more like suggestions, which they will ignore. And daring her to do something.

My impression is that contempt of court is not a pardonable federal crime. It is a crime against a co-equal branch of government. (ETA: Of course, that branch relies on the executive to enforce punishment of said crimes making it all rather toothless.)

I hope the Find Out part is much more than we all expect for these assholes…

Kevin Byrnes, a veteran federal employment law attorney representing more than 170 former and current career USAID staff in a separate suit challenging DOGE’s role in the mass firings, says the fact that Lewin had not completed mandatory onboarding paperwork raises even more questions about the authority of nonconfirmed agency leadership, and potentially exposes Lewin personally.

“If Lewin didn’t even fill out the papers and was not authorized to take these actions, then he could be exposed to personal liability,” says Byrnes, who is asking the court to reinstate all the plaintiffs to their USAID jobs, with back pay.

Don’t forget to wake up at 2 AM and move the small hand of your clock backwards. Extra hour of sleep! Unless you live in Arizona (Navajo nation exception though).
