A Rollicking Tick-Tock Of The Comically Inept SharpieGate Scandal | Talking Points Memo

The courts can sort out the mens rea. And judging by the expressions on the faces of the two coast guard and noaa officials on stage with him, they bloody well knew.

There are so many things mulvaney should be in jail for. That is one more. Asking why the people who actually know what they’re doing are contradicting the president is asking them to say what they know isn’t true.

True…it gets more sticky when it comes to the career positions.

It would be nice if that applied to the Supreme Court, too!

Leave Trump alone.

Too lazy to post a link to the “Leave Brittany Alone” Video.

Right.

And here is the really stupid part of this. They HAD to play it out for the public to see. I get stupid egotistical people are going do shit like this behind closed doors…but these morons can’t even keep it there. Because Trump insists upon it being played in publicly.

Maybe it’s me but I don’t want anything bad to happen to him; not even after he’s thrown in jail. I want him to have a nice healthy stint behind bars, ignored and worried every day that the n(CLANG!) he is convinced infest every prison, will be coming for him

Retired NWS national center forecaster and union official here. This whole thing is just a fundamental problem of the entire NWS/NOAA relationship. Except for when NOAA was formed in 1970 when Robert White was the first NOAA administrator, subsequent NOAA administrators have almost all been what we in the NWS called “fish” people. NOAA manages the nation’s fisheries, so things at the NOAA level get much more political because of fishing quotas and massaging various congressional people issues regarding this. That is where NOAA focuses much of it’s attention. Unfortunately as time has moved on, some of this attitude has filtered down into NWS management which sometimes makes the daily forecast work more difficult than it has to be.

The NWS has a strong reputation and constituency that the staff is very aware of and does it’s best to maintain the level of service that people expect. NWS forecasters take a lot of pride in trying provide the best service possible to the public. There has always been tension between NOAA and NWS because the NWS is better funded than the rest of NOAA and NOAA has always resented it.

There has been talk in the past of making NWS it’s own independent agency, but the political hackery of this administration makes one pause on whether that would be a good idea or not.

“clown car” is exactly the term that came to my mind. Unfortunately it’s really not that funny.

I want to be around to watch when they try to get all of these clowns back into the VW Beetle next January.

This is obviously good news for NH. There won’t be reporting like this which puts the blame squarely on Tulsa for the recent outbreaks.

He’s worth covering only because he’s the president. What he says and does at any given time potentially affects all of us. But if you look at other Big Media resources you’ll find so much more than what he’s saying and doing, including what Joe Biden is saying and doing as well as other political figures. His name in a story guarantees clicks and eyes on a story. It’s good for business.
