Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH) announced that he won’t seek another term in 2022, marking the first departure from Congress among the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for sparking the Jan. 6 insurrection.
House Republican Conference chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) is putting out ads accusing President Joe Biden and Democratic lawmakers of trying to carry out a “permanent election insurrection” by trying to make it easier for immigrants to become citizens.
Tucker Carlson going full great replacement: If the proposed relief bill (which includes protections for undocumented people) passes “Democrats will win every presidential election for the rest of your life, the rest of your children’s lives and that’s the point of this.”
Over the past 33 years, Republicans have won the popular vote in exactly one (1) presidential election. Democrats would win every presidential election for the rest of our lives if this was the metric used to select the President. No immigrants needed.
And people wonder why some of us still say “Defund the Police”. Everyone have at it yelling at me for that, oh, and Happy Friday!
Gonzalez could run as an independent, Democrat, Bull Moose Party candidate, or whatever he likes.
Fat Donnie and his inner circle seem to know the jig is up regarding 1/6, and want to dissociate themselves from any further action.
Unfortunately this looks like a pretty red district, so they will likely get a froth-in-the-mouther to fill it.

But how about dropping the “Defund the Police” slogan, unless your goal is to gain both houses of Congress for the Republicans.
What do we do about police officers who do not protect the public by getting vaccinated and wearing masks? They are a threat to public health.

How is it the Trumpers were so quick to believe their lies but they can’t believe their death-bed confessions that they were so horribly wrong?
It happens every time. The moment a dying anti-vaxxer confesses their falsehood, the Trump loonies stop listening to them, as if it was part of the hoax somehow.
If there is one abiding issue now, it is that the most stubborn among them can never admit they were wrong, and that may be their only solution.

If it looked as if the rally was going to be massive, they would be all over it. We wouldn’t be hearing about the feds using it as a trolling operation or about the media using it to attack TFG. My guess is that they were seeing little or no interest and have decided to decry it instead of having to admit that only the most credulous believe in them anymore. Of course there are still a lot of credulous people out there.
