When the FBI released the photo of records allegedly taken by former President Trump strewn around a floor in Mar-a-Lago, it revealed not only haphazard keeping of the government’s secrets, but also an incredibly tasteless rug underneath.
It takes at least two weeks to design the machine to make the pattern,” he said. Trump could save by ordering more square feet of the same product, but would pay more to have the arabesque carpet cover only a few rooms.
Enough about the carpet. Carpet used in large rooms, such as a hotel lobby or ballroom, has large busy patterns to hide stains and have the proper scale for the room.
I’m sure if you google hotel carpet or ballroom carpet you won’t find many patterns you’d want in your home.
It isn’t necessarily custom. We had to find a historically semi-appropriate wall-to-wall carpet for our 1880’s house after replacing the originally ratty one, and found one in stock with a pattern that many TPM’s here would probably gag at, but it fits the house.
Mar a Lago was built 1924-27 so it would originally have had something similar in many of the rooms. Maybe not as carpet-heavy as the Victorians by that time though, where the thing was wall-to-wall florid carpets and then Oriental rugs on top of that!
BTW, I think this photo was from Trump’s office in the private residence area.
Not sure. There’s a photo floating around of the former host of celebrity apprentice behind a knock-off of the resolute desk. The carpet is plain beige.
This looks like the carpet you would use in hallways and ballrooms/function rooms.
