In a conspiracy-laden interview hours before his scheduled speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday, former President Trump continued his streak of downplaying the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection that he helped incite and pushing bogus claims of a “stolen” presidential election.
He’s speaking right now - there’s a Twitch streamer who is slamming every stupid thing he says - a one person running commentary that would fit well here. He’s railing on immigration right now. And there is no response at all. Nothing. Oh, every few minutes you hear someone yell “Wooo!” or some polite applause. But not the usual response.
It’s a full on campaign speech, but there isn’t the usual rally reaction.
Oh, I spoke too soon. Big cheer over we should lock up BLM and let all of the brave patriots out of jail.
When the discussion turned to the Capitol insurrection, Trump misleadinglypsychopathically painted the attack that endangered lawmakers’ lives and was an effort to delegitimize the democratic process as a “lovefest” of “peaceful people.”
I guess that story about the love fest beats having to admit to himself that he lost and then was such a loser that he couldn’t even engineer a coup to overturn the election. On some level, the one that keeps whispering “loser” all night long, he must hate himself.
This is how the really evil ones in our historical past simply paint over reality - by repeating the same lies over and over again - and then again, and again, until it becomes a slogan, or a cause.
I did not suspect that reality was this fragile for so many people, but it really helps in understanding elected dictatorships and the idolatry of many monsters throughout history. It is not scary when a crazy man on TV says crazy things - it is a scary when you see your neighbor has a bumper sticker that repeats the crazy things the monster has said.
Ashli Babbitt was shot through the left shoulder.
Not in the head.
Just in case anybody still thinks that there’s any good faith in the “whodunit?” calls to name the officer who fired the shot, or that those calls have any purpose other than to know whom and whose family to terrorize.
Yep. Watching it you almost expect them to start chanting “Sieg heil” (which basically means “hail, victory!” and would thus fit into the MAGAt mentality).
