Incitement, round 2, methinks…

Absolutely. An all caps rant about taking back the country. The victim card is getting a little dog–earred.

The League of Women Voters might be nonpartisan, but I’ve yet to meet a member who skews right of center and most are well left of center. My take is the people working quietly to improve voting issues trend left. Careful analysis and consensus aren’t appreciated by the right-wing.

When a state’s governor is afraid of The League of Women Voters, that’s a sure sign of a wimpy fascist governor.

@emptywheel agrees with you:

As journalists, you are NOT required to treat ā€œTake our nation backā€ as anything but incitement – not least, because it was a key cry used the last time the former President attempted a coup.
You are also NOT required to ignore the coded anti-semitism of the reference to Soros.

My Congresswoman in her fifth term is so afraid of the League of Women Voters she has refused to participate in any debate they’ve hosted. My Congresswoman has also taken to FB to post her ā€œconstituent services meetingā€, all with local business and local governments. I keep telling her "businesses can’t vote for you. "

My best friend has been very active in LWV in Michigan and reports there are numerous right of center members. A year or so back, she complained about how difficult it was dealing with a new member who is a true MAGAt…

Probably not many right of center but until that one joined, the ones sheā€˜d been working with there were mostly reasonable.

Yeah, Donnie seems to have a limited range: a lot of what’s reported reads like recycled 1/6 twaddle.

I’ve shared this before, but it was members of the League of Women Voters that nabbed me in my HS hallway on my way to lunch, that got me registered to vote back in the very late 70s. I expect nowadays they wouldn’t allowed on school property in some districts.

I propose they change their name in Florida to the League of Fascist Voters. They should have no problem then, might even get funding.

Plausibly relevant to whether or not Donnie’s announcement just has truthiness:

There has been no public announcement of any timeframe for the grand jury’s secret work in the case, including any potential vote on whether to indict Trump. (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/mar/18/donald-trump-arrest-stormy-daniels- )

Could Donnie, for manipulative reasons of his own, give a false date for his own indictment?

Donnie? False? Say it ain’t so.

Sadly, it’s generally a better bet than not.

Unfortunately, even wimpy fascist governors hold a lot of power to do damage. One way this one is misusing the power of the state is making a bunch of nonsense rules that require court battles that are a much more relatively expensive for the compromised group than they are for the state. Why should these groups have to even think about whether they need to file a suit? I suspect it’s because of the expense. Florida has clearly blown through first amendment rights, and it seems to me that in egregious cases like this, a court should be able to rule against the state without the aggrieved group having to file a case.

A palindrome date.

Interesting. Coincidence? What will the Q-believers and other conspiracy theory followers have to say about that? There’s got to be a hidden - but easily revealed by those with sufficient lunacy - reason.

Ron DeSantis is turbocharging liberals, and proving once again that liberalism is The American Way.
