A Dangerous Line Crossed In Trump's Lethal High Seas Attack

No not neo-darwinist. That’s a legit term. Social Darwinism is more apt.

Neo-Darwinism, also known as the Modern Synthesis, is a scientific theory that combines Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection with Gregor Mendel’s theory of genetics, proposing that natural selection acts on random gene mutations to explain the origin and diversity of life.

My RSV vaccination is booked for next week. It’s recommended for 75+ here :canada: but not covered, CAD $300, USD $270 equivalent. Several years ago, pre-COVID, my brother had two nasty episodes of bronchitis that turned into pneumonia, which his doctor now speculates could have been RSV. Seems worth it not to take chances. Will get the annual COVID and flu shots when they come out in the fall. Vaccines do work.

I thought that delaying death and preventing suffering was the consensus position in our country.

And somehow I never thought slavery involved any of that.

Edit: Hey, let’s go talk to someone in an iron lung from polio, let’s see their opinion on this “slavery” idea.

Agreed.
It makes no sense to have 11 people and their provisions on a power boat that is purportedly being used to smuggle illicit substances across a wide sea – you lose cargo and fuel space and increase your exposure if the delivery is interdicted.

Hmmmm… maybe a good idea!

Saw an item that points out Venezuela has zero role in trafficking fentanyl into the US. The source is Mexican cartels.

Eleven people on a small boat doesn’t leave much room for drugs

hey - maybe one was a diabetic … insulin is a drug … so - Box checked!

Wasn’t this the plot of a Tom Clancy story? It ended with the President who ordered the strike being impeached.

It’s hard to tell which one is dying more, RFK jr or the Corn-squeezing nonagenarian.

Grassley sounds like he’ll finishing reading his comments by the end of the decade.

Not sure I want to take vaccination advice from the guy coughing up a lung.

The way I understand it, Lotus can’t be prosecuted for something he did while performing duties of the office. The fine line is determining if said illegal activity is part of the duties of the office. Telling the defense department to strike a boat that may or may not be drug running is part of the job.
The other fine line is the question of what he does is illegal or a crime per the law of the land. Firing government workers without cause and halting grants wasn’t done by him…Musk did that so he can be put under the bus no matter who did gave the order.

Don’t confuse these people with the facts. Interferes with their narrative.

Yeah. I lot of things that i thought were consensus positions (slavery is bad, nazis were the bad guys, children living to adulthood is good) are turning out to be partisan issues.

Yes, the US could never become a pariah state by observing established procedures and protocols and respecting existing laws and treaties.

For a time, the Angola Auschwitz was named “Camp 47” in honor of Trump, the 47th president. So we can also call it “Stalag 47”.

The Rs like their cutesy names; we can, too.

CNN is essentially Fox-lite these days. They may as well employ Karoline Leavitt on their nightly news panels, she’d probably come cheaper than Scott Jennings. Any pretense of impartiality or journalistic purpose on his part has been tossed overboard. He’s an administration spokesperson working for CNN.

And boy is he ever lying. I’m listening to him tell the committee that the American Academy of Pediatric Medicine, that finds him dangerous and disagrees with him, has been bought out by the pharmaceutical industry and can’t be trusted. When Wyden asked him if that goes for all the medical societies that disagree with him that have complained of his approach on public health, he says they’re all bought out.

He claims he needs to fire even more people at CDC who he says are endangering the public. He is a fucking lunatic. Just mentally ill to put it plainly.

He’s no scientist. He’s no doctor. He’s just a blathering conspiracist with bent ideas who wants to take over to apply his niche notions on healthy living that have no basis in science or fact.

I know he’s an adult but his family needs to commit him to psychiatric care. He is a danger to himself and others. No question about it. On Earth One we need to be protected from people like him.

Colorado’s (nominally) D gov just announced that he’s doing a sort of “blanket” prescription for anyone under 65 who wants to get a COVID vaccine. He’s come a long way from “I look forward to working with RFK.”

I’ll take the win because I do not want to get sick.

Can we include the GOP majority who thought him a worthwhile appointment?
