Financial predation, particularly against those already disadvantaged in some way, is rampant and big business in America so reinvigorating the CFPB should be a priority: citizens have to start seeing their government returning to a model willing to protect them rather than enabling their predators.

I know there are a lot of dumpster fires for the media to cover, but I hope other outlets will also be highlighting the travesty of Trump’s decimation of the CFPB, and the need to put it back to work and protect it from future malefactors.

Democrats really need to start harping on this. Select several juicy stories from the many examples of Trump’s failures versus successes under Obama. Make it real. Also, make the meaningless acronym “CFPB” part of common language, like "USPS and "“NFL”. Maybe hire some messaging experts on how to, ya know, communicate with actual people, not DC wonks and academics. What words move people. What words make their eyes glaze over. That sort of thing.

Yes, indeed, but one of the most important for winning back the confidence of real Americans in their government. Along with EPA, DOJ, the Civil Rights Commission, the Post Office, and all the other cabinet level agencies now headed by an industry hack.
