A Ballot Initiative Incentive Seeks To Lure Out Republican Voters For Critical Wisconsin Court Election

On Tuesday, Wisconsin voters will head to the polls for the primary in a state Supreme Court election that could have a huge influence on the state’s future. The top two vote getters — including, potentially, two candidates of the same ideological bent — will move on to the April 4 general election.

Unless I’m totally wrong, I think Wisconsin voters get that this election is about abortion access.
I get a strong Kansas vibe on this.

Fox Blocked Trump from Going on Air During Capitol Attack, Exec Testified: ‘Would Be Irresponsible to Put Him On’ (msn.com)

“The afternoon of January 6, after the Capitol came under attack, then-President Trump dialed into Lou Dobbs’ show attempting to get on air,” the Dominion filing read.

Fox Business Network President Lauren Petterson testified that the network believes “it would be irresponsible to put him on air” and that Trump’s words “could impact a lot of people in a negative way.”

“I recognize that people want to pull out all the stops in what might be a very close election,” Yablon said. “But I am skeptical that these ballot measures will make much of a difference — it’s hard to imagine that many voters out there would not be motivated to show up for a very high stakes Supreme Court election where many millions of dollars are invested, and yet it would be the presence of bail reform on the ballot or a nonbinding referendum about welfare that would get them out.”

The advisory initiative on welfare is obvious red meat for R’s, but I’m having trouble understanding why the following is strictly a rightwing issue:

Two of the ballot initiatives would amend the state constitution to allow judges to take a person’s criminal history into account while setting bail — which would likely make it harder for some defendants to get out of jail.

This seems reasonable to me, and something Dems and Independents might vote for. Unless I’m missing something. How does this track with what other states are doing?

I’m a Wisconsin resident and voter. The primary ballot here in my rural County only pertains to the vote-for-one Supreme Court. The April election ballot will include a local circuit judge race and a reproduction freedom initiative.

Inside your post:

There will be a lot of noise and confusion generated by Dominion and their opportunistic private equity owners, but the core of this case remains about freedom of the press and freedom of speech, which are fundamental rights afforded by the Constitution and protected by New York Times v. Sullivan, ” Fox said. “Dominion has mischaracterized the record, cherry-picked quotes stripped of key context, and spilled considerable ink on facts that are irrelevant under black-letter principles of defamation law.”

I’m confused, does Fox not like private equity owners? Aren’t Republicans in general the voice of business?

whether low-income people should have to perform job searches to receive “tax-payer funded welfare benefits.”

Medicaid serves seniors, children, people with disabilities, and pregnant women. Most recipients are white.

Will Wisconsin Republican voters screw themselves over, so their representatives can keep their cushy jobs?

So that 13 y/o rape victim that was impregnated will also have to get a job? Maybe she could get at a job at PSSI as a meat packing facility cleaner?

The decision held that if a plaintiff in a defamation lawsuit is a public official or candidate for public office,

Dominion is neither. Fox is blowing Ohio toxic tanker car gas.
