This is their ‘get out the vote’ move?
“He’s reinventing the English language with this idea,”
I protest. You can’t “reinvent” a language. He’s undermining the English language. He’s torturing it. He’s the freaking Bulwer-Lytton of Republican poetry.
It’s like they think they can still get elected even if they get fewer votes than their opponents.
Which… They might be right about.
This is tempting bait, but I’m going to stick with my position that it’s wrong to make jokes referring to Lindsey Graham’s perceived sexual orientation.
Lindsay is the senate’s number one media whore, and this misogynistic move will get him press coverage of the worst kind. So many men trying to make decisions that affect women only. But he’ll never have to deal with a woman he’s impregnated.
This mirrors the 15-week ban that DeSantis signed in April.
Does Lindsey’s version include a heavily-funded “Miscarriage Police” investigative unit?
Thank you, Lindsey. The ads just write themselves.
I guess he really doesn’t want to keep control of Congress, huh?
The Todd Akin remark will always remain at the top of the how little I know about women list and how I lost to Claire McCaskill because I am that stupid.
if it is a “legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”
Only if they are trying to get out the vote of WOMEN!
True. This makes no sense what so ever. It is almost like Linds is handing us a sledge hammer and demanding we use it on their heads.
Oh damn, now I have that song in my head. I guess it could be worse.
It still sends my blood pressure through the roof. The really upsetting thing is that basic idea was recently regurgitated another repub.
OY
You just made me think of something. Is it possible the Senator is trans? That’s their secret?
(Nervously eyes ‘Reply’ button before slowly backing away from keyboard and vast comic potential)
I wonder how much of this is predicated on knowing the bill will never make it out of committee, much less to a floor vote. So the GQP can campaign on “The evil democrats stifled our perfectly reasonable restrictions on late-term abortion” without subjecting any of their senators to the risks of voting for 15 weeks.
(Which is a ridiculous number, btw. It’s essentially end of 1st trimester. Any abortions past that point are generally a) women who haven’t been able to get an earlier abortion because their living conditions and the evil of their state legislature have made it impossible, or b) women with a wanted pregnancy where something has gone terribly wrong. A whole lot of diagnostic tests won’t return definitive results until 13-16-20 weeks. And the ones you can do earlier tend to have significant false negatives and positives…)
I think poor old Lindsey has been changing directions so often that he no longer has any idea where he is or where he is going.
He’s completely unmoored, in more ways than one.
Can’t we just ban Lindzeybelle instead?
I’m just surprised they don’t go all the way and just call it the “Pro-Choice Act” or the “Bans Off Our Bodies Act”.
I think Tammy Baldwin should introduce a bill banning some kind of men’s medical procedure— perhaps one that’s applicable to old white men.
He can introduce a bill, doesn’t mean it’s going to get passed. You think too little about the party you presumably belong to. This move by Lindsay is a typical Lindsay move, he does nothing worthwhile as a senator except kiss trumpet’s big fat ass so he has break through with a half-assed announcement and gather more right-wing support.
Pretty sure even those demonic, godless blue states would call that a homicide.
