5 Points On FBI Director Wray’s First Congressional Testimony Since Capitol Attack | Talking Points Memo

You say that, but I’d rather do that then unstick myself from vinyl.

Which is why when I could have a choice, I go normal cloth seats. Just to emphasize, I said normal. That picture of yours makes me think there is a Macrame Planter hanging in the backseat and a side table from the Sears 1970 catalog.

I’m so sorry for your family’s great loss.

I’m almost more angry with the H-E-B grocery chain than the murderous mfing governor of Texas. A lot of customers can choose to go elsewhere, and I sure AF will, but they’re putting their employees at risk by kowtowing to the Reichwing “leadership” of this beknighted state. They make a great display of being good corporate citizens, helping out in disasters, but they’re showing their true colors now and it’s NOT PRETTY.

Our family car well into the 70s was a late 60s opal - with red vinyl seats - and I remember how sweaty and hot it was back there driving through deserts on family vacations.

On rhetoric he’s busy planting trees to obscure the forest.

Can’t beat the old Dodge/Plymouth herringbone.

Reminds me of a pass around car my dad had when we were stationed in Hawaii. Square back Volkswagen with vinyl seats. Those seats were killer when getting ready to leave the beach after sitting for hours in the sun.

They’d built up all that good will by coming through for Texas during the ice storm, and today just blew it all in the stupidest way possible. I mean, all they had to do was keep on doing what they were already doing, which was fine with their customers.

It’s so stupid. They could have just said “Masks are still required because we LOVE our staffers and our customers, please be safe” and dealt gently with any hardcore anti-maskers, guilting them into putting on a free mask. But their stupid policy encourages the nutjobs to strut around making scenes, Marjorie Covid Greene-style, and allows the weak-minded to think “Oh, well, OK, I guess it’s not biggie if I leave my mask at home now.” And that means careful people will stay the heck away.

They’re the closest store to me, and it was just starting to seem like you could run in and grab something without stressing too much, but now they’re on the same shitlist Walmart has been on for decades. I don’t have a car, but I would rather bike further and pay more money at Whole Foods than go into an HEB or Central Market now. (If Bezos screws up, I expect Wheatsville Coop will still stick with public health recommendations, so I will just have to pedal a little farther.)

Most of his testimony was solid, except for failing to link the connection between the comments of stop the steal, we need to fight like hell, we won’t have a country anymore etc. and the violence that followed. We’re only focused on the violence…so if someone in power and authority says - go shoot that guy, and someone does, they are only interested in the violence and not the person who directed it??

“Y’all don’t mess with Texas. We’ll fuck ourselves up, thank you very much.”

In fact being vaccinated does not mean you definitely can’t get and spread the virus, it’s just that in theory, your window of time for doing so is much shorter and you should not have any symptoms-we all need to keep masking for the time being, and health care people will be masked at work, likely for the next year or two…or perhaps, forever.

“The FBI has been taking the white supremacist threat very seriously.” The long and ugly history of the FBI suggests that you take this with a grain of salt, or at least consider their motives . I would be unsurprised to find that certain elements within the FBI have been intimately “managing” our right wing terrorists all along. I sort of remember that the head of the oath Keepers was (or is?) an FBI informant.

We are talking about the current FBI, not way back when. Yes, they take the white supremacist threat very seriously.

Yes, elements of every organization have bad apples. But overall they are a top notch organization, and I am a little tired of both conservatives and liberals trashing them. Remember the FBI doctored some documents in the Trump investigation. That does not mean the overall investigation was in any way compromised by any far left factions.

I would also note that it’s Mr. Caldwell’s attorney who is making these claims. His attorney is also claiming his client is not even a member of the Oath Keeper’s. You buying that? I’m not.
