As bad as Jordan was, I think Nunes’ opening statement was the biggest pile of garbage I heard all day. Once again, the Rethugs got nothing; Mulvaney already spilled the beans. And bravo to Ambassador Taylor and Secretary Kent; neither one of them withered under questioning.

Something I read about him said he was pretty understated and liked staying out of the limelight. Probably really seek cover after this.

I think it goes with the CEO’s expectation that everyone under him is a toady. Can’t fathom that people are in it for the benefit of the US as a whole and not for themselves.

As I think someone said at the hearing, there is no doubt that the Russians, likely the Ukrainians, and probably about 10 other nations have a transcript of that call.
The truth is that Trump is a moron with a functional IQ of about 90. He only hires people who are dumber than he is. No one else will work for him. Sondland will be luckly not to end up in jail.
The contrast between Sondland and Volker is very telling. Volker was smart enough to avoid the really crooked stuff, Sondland not so much…

Trump claims he didn’t watch the hearing; he was busy and, btw, it was a witch hunt.

That the testimony of credible,long term public servants is pissed upon by the pipsqueak cowards in the GOP is infuriating.It took courage for these people to come forward and say what they knew had happened…what they had witnessed.Nunes and the boys on the right have created another diversion to cover for a man who should have been arrested long ago .

I grew up in the North Country where it’s whacky red … most of the time. While she won handedly in '18, her margin of victory was cut in half by the Dem challenger. And that was with a lower turnout than in '16.

The guy had little to work with. He actually tried to ask questions, just got no where. The contrast with say Jordon or Nunes who used up blocks of time to just lie, not ask quesitons was stark.
The reality is that 25% of the country is in the tank for Trump. 50% want him out of office. The battle is for the 25% who either support Trump, but are persuadable or who don’t support him but are not for impeachment.
I think the republican counsel’s efforts will do less harm with that 25% than did Jordon, etc.
