First. It’s the DOJ’s call that matters.

When my copy of the report arrives, I’m going to go straight from the table of contents to the section on potential witness tampering.

Legally, yes. But it’s really good for the public to see the vote and the report.

Hurray for the committee. They are making their case. Their recommendations are theirs. They will help educate the American people, that’s the significance.

I like Froomkin’s advice. Let’s look at the stuff the committee releases.

One can only applaud the committee for their unwavering professionalism and organization. Unlike the MAGA crowd, they are fact based, not grounded in histrionics, lies, or crass and deceptive emotionalism.

No, the committee’s call matters, at least historically, but the DOJ’s call will be determinative with respect to any formal legal charges.

Let’s hope these referrals are not analogous to trying to push string.

Meanwhile---- the 34 Congressional insurrectionists are NOT being recommended for prosecution. They will be sent to the Ethics Committee where Republicans will pin a medal on them and the wussy Democrats will whine and cry like a bunch of little girls.

Very, very damning that orange sat in front of a TV in the dining room of the WH (probably eating cheeseburgers and drinking Diet Coke) for three hours simply watching the insurrection despite being urged by everyone around him to speak out and the tell the rioters to stop and go home. He enjoyed himself, somewhat like Roman emperors watching people being torn to shreds by lions, panthers and bears for sport

I looked on Amazon and there are 6-7 different ones you can pre-order. Anyone have a recommendation?

I am grateful to the Committee because it was very informative without any histrionics and showed us its evidence straight out of the mouths of perpetrators or perpetrators adjacent. It is obvious that the incoming Congress is going to be circus. Instead of fact finding, it is going to be innuendo, hyperbole, and grandstanding on a shifting basis of “facts” The contrast with this committee and its work, it going to be stark.

The DOJ doesn’t want the committee’s 2 cents worth because it complicates their work. Yes, the committee’s decisions will be in the history books.
