Republican Rep. Alyssa Brown, one of the Arkansas bill’s sponsors, described it as an effort to educate students on how the United States was founded and how the founders framed the Constitution.
Then why not just have a poster of the Constitution?
It’s almost as if they are subverting the very foundational document they cite constantly.
What they want posted is NOT the Ten Commandments. It’s just one religious tradition’s opinion (ignorance) of the actual verses in Exodus, and not even close to what it says either literally or via translation. Now, if they want it posted in the original ancient Hebrew, I’m for it. There would be an educational purpose for that effort.
The religious know that they need to indoctrinate kids young, and they have been given every right to do so. But that shit should stop at the edge of government property. Besides, have they forgotten that every other religion will hop right in and demand equal placement?
I reckon they think they can win because they think they’ll get a free pass to discriminate against pagans. Maybe SCROTUS is ready to cross that line?
I say: no government assistance for religions, dammit!
Besides, if you’ve got the Lord your God on your side, why do you even feel the need for government help? And don’t you think it undermines your witness, if you need the government to aid you in witnessing?
The supposed Christians who want the Ten Commandments (real or not) posted are an embarrassment to the faith. They do not trust the Lord. They are placing their trust in Big Government.
