Okay, I’ll buy that description as far as immigration and civil rights go, but Miller isn’t responsible for everything. Trump has had a fixation on using tariffs as a weapon since forever. Miller isn’t benefitting from Trump’s targeting of his personal enemies and attempts to rewrite the history of J6. Or his fixation on windmills and water pressure in toilets.
Trump contains multitudes of crazy ideas and obsessions. Miller is only tapping into the racist and authoritarian bits.

Trump will back down. Trump needs to be shown that he is the best. He does not plan on there being Soviet style empty shelves. There will be some unplanned empty shelves but Trump will back down before it gets out of hand. And the markets will go down while he publicly states that he will not bend, then when he backs down, the markets will go up (and the middle class will get screwed again in the process). Trump will back down. Trust.

I can almost believe that. I watched about 10-15 minutes of Morning Jackoff today. The namesake of that show and the show itself, besides the entire roster of afternoon garbage, that tends to bothsides every trump story now on the airways, has gone completely superficial, with so much banality. The analysis is so lame most of the time, they barely register even mild outrage at the implications of losing our democracy to a fascist dictatorship. If anything, the fallback quip seems to be, “why aren’t the Dems doing anything about it”?
Maddow brought the fight that Dems have been waging but she’s gone back to one day a week. No other show does that there. MSNBC barely scratches the surface of how much is being attacked and disassembled all at once in our federal gov’t, what judicial rulings actually say that have ruled against trump (she likes to read those transcripts), or what that will mean for the average person around the country. There is so little on network or cable news anymore that addresses the full picture of how dangerous trump and his acolytes have become. Podcasts are fine…but their reach is still limited.

I’m not old enough but I remember a MASH episode where Frank Burns is teaching English phrases to some Koreans. One of the phrases was “We don’t want fluoride in our water”. Even as a kid I knew that was stupid.

I went grocery shopping this weekend, and I did notice there was more empty space that is usual. Stuff that I usually buy didn’t find this time. MAGAts don’t get it buy a lot of stuff produced in the US, use some ingredients or packaging that it is imported.
