2024ers Bet On Shutdown As A Winning Campaign Strategy

It’s rare for Donald Trump to follow anyone’s lead but his own, especially the lead of his only half-serious contender Ron DeSantis, but the former president has jumped on the shutdown bandwagon, perhaps convinced of its effectiveness as a campaign strategy.

Modern-day anarchists, all of them.

Biden needs to keep pressing the issue that Republicans can’t lead anything and the need to vote them out to save the country.

And, a cute kitty.

Celebrating!

" Judge Arthur Engoron in his scathing decision canceled the New York business certificates of Trump, the Trump Organization, and the other defendants in the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit, who include two of his adult sons.

The judge said he will apppoint an independent receiver to manage the dissolution of the corporations whose business certificates he canceled."

Whoever is President will be blamed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Sunday. “UNLESS YOU GET EVERYTHING, SHUT IT DOWN! Close the Border, stop the Weaponization of ‘Justice,’ and End Election Interference.”

Telling the Freedumb Caucus and other ony slightly less crazy House republicans to shut it down will be Biden’s fault. Trump isn’t very smart. But he actually tells us what he’s really most concerned about and it ain’t the shutdown.

"the Weaponization of ‘Justice’ and End Election interference

He’s so freaking transparent.

It will be so enjoyable to watch him go down.

I like the way “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America” has become a radical, far-left idea.

Me too, but perhaps a third or more of the electorate will believe that he’s been set up by vengeful, extreme leftists who are out to get him and moreover, even if he’s guilty, he’s better than having a Democrat as president.

My husband read that the article said that he’d been doing this for at least a decade. Yeah, times four.

First Rule of Holes: When you’re in one, stop digging.

TFG of course doesn’t understand that one, but I hope the rest of us can at least start doing some forward/upward movement. This is just a step.

Also it will make him scream, which is good for me.

one in three voters would blame congressional Republicans for a shutdown…23% would blame President Joe Biden and 21% would blame Democrats in Congress

The GOP’s multi-decade investment in the destruction of our public school system is paying off bigly.

He’s always had someone he could push under him and climb up their back in the past. He’s never been in a hole where there’s no one he can force to take the fall for him.

My optimism for America sank even lower after reading the poll numbers for who should be assigned blame for the shutdown.

I’m not convinced of the reliability of such polls. There’s way too much weighting and tweaking, often whimsical, and self-serving.

Fair point about the reliability of the polls. That said, you should be convinced of the effect of the 40 year right wing campaign against liberal education. There’s a reason so many folks are gullible to the point of being idiots.

I’m not sure why this isn’t bigger news? He’s always been a total fraud. And now a judge says so, and sanctions his useful idiot lawyers.

The reporting so far seems pretty crap - which business got their licenses yanked, and how will it impact his (negative) net worth? Any normal (non-criminal) enterprise would be devastated by this, as the banks would call their loans, but I’m sure his crime syndicate will continue on, unscathed as usual.

Yes, that’s thing. The polling is consistent with what I see within my own universe, but I have always told myself that this is a right-winger area to live and is not representative. However, the results also comport with what happened in 2016 as opposed to what the polls showed then nationally.

From WSJ:

“The former president also suggested that his properties’ values couldn’t be inflated because he could find a “buyer from Saudi Arabia” to pay any price he suggests, the ruling said.”

JFCOAFB lock him up as the number one security risk to the country.

Remember how the polls got the red wave so right in ‘22?

They call it “the quiet part” because anyone who’s not an idiot would never say it out loud.

And chopping off a leg is a quick way to lose weight.

Maybe both those strategies could use a second thought.
