2024 Republican Prospects Largely Scamper Away From Trump’s Rape Trial Verdict

Yes, Hutchinson is formidable.

It’s too bad he’s wrong about many things.

After he shores up most of the hibernating R’s disgusted by Trump, he will have more room to maneuver…just like some of the below:

Rick Wilson
Bill Kristol
George Will
Max Boot
David Frum

and more are waiting for an opening…

This statement from the article is incorrect and in a big way:

“But the Republican candidates and would-be candidates, with the exception of Hutchinson, are performing a difficult dance. They’re trying not to alienate Trump’s supporters, who they need to win the nomination, but also to make a case as to why those voters should choose them and not Trump.”

The other than Trump Republican candidates and would-be candidates DO NOT need Trump supporters to win the nomination. Rather, they need Trump supporters to win the general election.

That is there is a path for a Republican candidate, if he is able to consolidate the non-cult Trump Republicans, to defeat Trump and his base. However, the big danger the GOP faces in dealing with Trump is that he will sulk and walk away from the nominee and Party and take much of his base with him. Without Trump’s White supremacist base, people who not only do not vote on economic issues but are willing to lose much of what they have so long as the nominee espouses their social agenda, it will be the worst election for the GOP since 1964.

But as I said before, anyone trying to challenge Trump for his base is on a fools errand, like trying to challenge any cult leader for his or her base. But in the end Republicans must have Trump’s base, including his ability to get that base to turn out, to have any chance in 2024.

No need for R candidates to accept reality here. The Bonkers-verse expands as needed.

You have to feel kind of sorry for Meatball Ron. He’s just a poor, pathetic, uncharismatic, sorry tinhorn Mussolini wannabe.
Upon further review, don’t feel sorry for him, since his wounds are all self-inflicted.

Since even before 2016 when have Republican candidates accepted reality? I’m thinking the candidates and the base all have CTE.

Cowards, the lot of them. Their voters respect strength, a quality which they don’t have. I mean, come on! The one crime that virtually every American agrees disqualifies you for office is committed by Donald Trump and they’re all freaking silent? What absolute m************ cowards!

The current Republican Party exists in a legal, moral, and ethical vacuum. It is rotten to the core.

True, WE don’t, but I’m not so sure about you.

That would be the Bill Clinton who, like DT, was successfully sued? Weird how that doesn’t get a mention from California Losin’.

Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy mused that the case was another attempt by the “establishment” to expel Donald Trump.

“Believe me, it would be a lot easier for me if Trump weren’t in this race,” he said in a statement. “But in America we don’t weaponize the law with decades-old allegations to undercut our political opponents.”

HA! No, I don’t believe you, and I don’t even have the slightest idea who you are, so there’s that.

No. He’s done real damage to Florida and Floridians, and will continue to do so through november 2024 to prove his fascist bona fides.
