Anything that upsets Charlie Kirk is a good thing.

Is “White flight” still a thing down in Texas?

I mean it was a thing around here 50 years ago, a Black family would move in and your insurance rates would jump and property values would fall and White families would dump their homes and run. All In the Family even had an episode about “block busting”.

But around here that went out in the 1980s.

Today, except for “gentrification”, which changes a neighborhood the other way, a neighborhood let alone an entire county may become more diverse but really do not change very much.

Whether motivated by racial animus or not, the census numbers out of Jefferson County are not really deniable.

I have been encouraged by the reports of a big surge in Democrat early voting this past week; e.g.,

Data peeps should be crunching what it's going to take for Rs to overcome these unprecedented, enormous Dem early vote leads across US.

In the last 2 elections final vote was only 2-4 pts different from EV. Ds are up 11 now, and Rs have been underperforming for months. 6/

Not going to be easy for Repuglicans to overtake gaps this big but I suppose it could happen. Still the odds of a “red wave” seem a lot smaller than the chattering class would have it and the odds of a “blue wave” no longer zero.

Babylon 5 seems so appropriate nowadays, with the increase in propaganda and downfall of the freedom of the people going on. We can hope that reality reflect the show, and after a period of insanity there is finally a break towards a far better future.

“a sheriff’s personal interpretation of the Constitution outweighs state and federal authority.”

Yeah, forget the Supremacy Clause!

What an idiot she is. It is obvious that she does not know how
the government works. Counting ballots in another place is
pretty common. Collect them and send them to a central
area - Registrar of Voters.

While increase early voting is good if it’s just a increase that is taken from election day voting then the net isn’t impacted much.

Don’t play if off as if she is just a idiot, it’s the people who follow them that are brainwashed idiots. The person running the scam isn’t the real idiot it’s the ones falling for it.

Is the change in the ethnic mix of Jefferson County caused by growth or “White flight” would be my question.

That is in several of the “Collar Counties”, the counties that ring Cook/Chicago, have become more diverse due to growth. That is much different then “White flight”.

Growth is why the Collar Counties are becoming suburbs and the suburbs are becoming more Democratic. That is in the 1960s when “White flight” was a big thing, White people would run to the suburbs and hate the city and hate the people remaining in the city. Today, while most people moving to the collar counties are still White, a significant portion are not White and if not especially the White people moving to the suburbs/Collar counties, not only do not hate Chicago but cannot wait for their kids to grow up and move back to the city.

The untold story about most but not all, that is there are still some suburbs that go out of their way to be “White”, the growth and diversity of the suburbs and White acceptance of that diversity has changed Illinois politics turning the state deep blue.

For example the two largest Collar county by population, DuPage county that use to be the center of Republican politics in Illinois, and Will county, now has more people voting for Democrats then Republicans.

Does the Idiot Ms. Lake think that votes are counted in all the various churches, schools and other civic buildings used as polling places? Isn’t that a bit less secure than sending all of the ballots to a centralized, secure counting location?

If these states actually attempt to block DOJ observers from monitoring the polls, it would be a massive breach of the federal law that’s undergirded access to the polls for more than 50 years.

But why, oh why, would they need to?

You made me laugh. I think of Kirk as a possibly straight Wohl and Burkman. (Now I don’t KNOW about Wohl and Burkman, but people are sayin’ they are ALWAYS together. So just sayin’ what people are sayin’ (even if “I” just made it up).

I liked the revolution against President Clark very much. Especially because we never saw his face.
