Many 2020 Democratic candidates stood up for fellow rival Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) this weekend when false claims arose online suggesting that she was lying about her black heritage.
segregationists, Donald Trump Jr. retweeted (then deleted) a circulating false claim that Harris was from âJamaican Slave Ownersâ and not truly African-American.
I donât even understand why Republicans think this is some big âgotchaâ. Though race doesnât really have any sort of basis scientifically, we all know people judge your âraceâ solely on your skin color, not on some deep analysis whether youâre Kenyan, Nigerian, or Caribbean descent.
And when youâre âwhiteâ, nobody cares if youâre of Irish, German, or Norwegian descent. Youâre just white with all itâs attendent privileges.
They really think you canât be an American as a person of color.
Great that all her fellow Dems are speaking up but all I can think of is, here we go again. The racist rethugs will try to divide and conquer. Please stop the lies.
The changes Republicans wanted to make to the Census questions was, in effect, a way to relegate people of color to three-fifths of a person. We canât go back to that, and have to call out racism, sexism, and bigotry wherever we see it.
I havenât seen her (Taitz) surface for awhile. Sheâs in my County. I should check to see if sheâs been disbarred. She filled the worst motion for summary judgment I have ever seen. It was so bad that the judge asked to see her bar card. This was about 10 years ago.
You know, if we all voted together, we really could jam all kinds of ethnicities, orientations etc. down their throats until they got the message. You could make a list of all the fun types of folks that would make their own heads explode and stretch it out for a few decades.
Have to admit theyâre getting creative with genealogy, though, as an attack method.
Doesnât matter that itâs a spurious and ridiculous point, they just throw it out there, and the media will amplify the message just by reporting about it.
