Is it just my relative lack of exposure to the phenomenon, or does every important personality in the fundamentalist racket talk in that stupid hick accent? Even living in a relatively urbane part of the country, if I venture to move the vernier up and down the AM dial, about a third of the AM stations feature fundamentalist themes, and all of the voices on those stations sound like a uniquely belligerent and judgmental version of Huckleberry Hound.
