Say It Ain’t So, Joe! Joseph diGenova, the Trump loyalist and conspiracy promulgator put in charge of the sweeping DOJ investigation into an imagined grand conspiracy against the president, abruptly resigned yesterday reportedly under pressure for not having secured indictments quickly enough. For a brief moment last night, diGenova looked like he might effectively turn…
Here’re Friday’s Heather & Paul:
Paul’s essay is a short echo of Tim Snyder’s long column I posted yesterday. It is the most comprehensive, cogent and lucid explanation of how and why we came to be in our current predicament I ‘ve seen. In case you missed it or didn’t have time to read it yesterday, here it is again if you want to give it a read:
Also worth the time is Jimmy Kimmel’s YouTube interview of Talarico:
Talarico used the metaphor of Jesus flashing righteous anger when he flipped the tables of the money changers in the temple to present a clever, appealing version of dicktater’s political advice that we should continue to ridicule TSF but direct our heavy artillery on the GOP, especially in the Senate to “flip” MAGA’s tables there with righteous anger. It won’ t make our fight easier, but it will make you a more effective fighter and we need each and every one of you to be a relentless, joyful fighter from here on. We are few on the Hive, but there are millions of us everywhere in our country and millions more we can recruit, especially among the young. I leave you with a message that is again urgently relevant:

Stand your ground.
It’s not a parody, it’s a documentary
Dear Democrats, You will never be able to triangulate your way through racism/sexism/transphobia, because pushing a lighter, politer form of bigotry is always a lose-lose proposition. The bigots want the uncut stuff, while normal people aren’t drawn to cowards who sell out.
Stand your ground
The bolded portions can be exchanged for terms of many political fights these days…
Also today a submission from Garrett Graff:
Technically he uh-bedea-bedea-uh-objects…
Hope so, it makes Fetterman irrelevant but feels optimistic.
Happy 9-11!
