Discussion: Treasury Financial Crimes Dept. To Share Trump Team Records For Russia Probe

Oh ohhh. Congressional subpoenas for Trump tax records cannot be far behind.

"On Friday, Trump’s lawyers released a letter saying that a review of the past 10 years of the President’s tax returns reflect little income from Russian sources. The letter allowed that there were “a few exceptions.”

Little noticed tiny footnote in letter: “Income discussed herein does not reflect income received in ruble form.”

Saw this on Maddow last night…really good news
They said that the committee won’t be able to complete it’s investigation without these facts
Just like Capone and countless mobsters and con men who followed him
Follow the money
Best comment from Maher last night

You know those low information voters?
We elected one to the white house

Just like I’m wishing for an ending to trumPP’s presidency similar to Howard Beale’s so do I wish for trumPP to be similarly afflicted with syphilis just like Capone who was a walking dead man after prison because his brain turned to mush. Which we might not see as anything different than what we see now it.

Yes. Very funny Maher. Adam Schiff was a guest. When Maher asked “if there was any there there” Schiff replied “If there was no there there, we’d still have Comey.”

Excellent Schiff quote. Thanks for sharing that.

This is like the moments when the roller coaster crests the top bit and begins to respond to gravity. You hold your breath, because you know what’s coming.

I just assumed this is the case with Trump, though he hardly strikes me as the kind of guy who would have sex outside of his marriage.

Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will be fired next week.

At least you know the roller coaster is on a track.

What Trump and his administration sycophants are too ignorant and stupid to understand is that federal agencies are staffed by many thousands of career civil servants, the large majority of whom take their agency jobs and their careers very seriously. A large portion of them have extensive educational credentials in the areas they work in, and are highly informed both about their area of expertise and about how the government works. Most of these people, even the nominal conservative Republicans, are disgusted by Trump’s attack on the dignity and worth of their work and regard him very directly as an enemy of what they value in life.

These people are going play a significant—if largely unseen—role in Trump’s undoing, particularly those working in federal law enforcement and national security.

I should clarify I hate roller coasters. I hate the sensation, and don’t feel they’re controlled at all; it seems nightmarish to me. So for me the comparison is apt. :frowning:

“The Journal also reported that Trump’s Atlantic City, New Jersey casino, the Trump Taj Mahal, was hit with a $10 million civil penalty by FinCEN in 2015 for ‘willful and repeated violations’ of anti-money laundering requirements.”

This – along with other gems on FinCEN’s web site – has been publicly available since March 06, 2015.

(Here’s a fun, little exercise: Type “Trump” into the Search box at the top-right of the FinCEN site.)

If only the press had access during the campaign to some tool that revealed Trump’s money-laundering.

Maybe a web site.

Hosted by Treasury.

Something like that.

If Trump feels cornered/threatened he could be very dangerous. Any country without a Trump hotel or deal could be a target.

So I’m guessing this is out of the question?

Ironically, there really was a Donald Nixon—Dick’s brother.

Despite our glee at this news, the fact is that Trump, since 2009, had only a small stake in the Taj Mahal’s parent company, and his remaining stake in it was completely wiped out last year. It’s going to be tough to hang any of the casino’s money laundering problems on him.
