Discussion: Stormy Daniels' Lawyer Tells TPM: We Both Fear For Our 'Physical Safety'

Who would ever have expected…? Not snark. Because of Trump’s election despite numerous well documented sexual escapades and predations throughout the years, I never thought his presidency would be seriously challenged by his relationship with a porn star. I respect Stormy Daniels a hell of a lot more than I respect Trump. Of course, with Trump I start with zero.

Personally, I’m a fan of her greatest work, “Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre” (yep).

Her entire IMDB filmography.

Later in the interview, Marshall asked if “surrogates” of President Donald Trump have bullied Clifford or spread false narratives about Clifford

One unique aspect of this scandal is that it’s really kind of hard to shame her. It’s not like she secretly did porn and is terrified of it getting out. No, she owns it with pride. She can’t be slut shamed and she can’t be scared away with threats to her reputation. They can’t call her a money grubber or a gold digger because she’s really not trying to get anything out of PP. All they’ve got is physical threats. Should anything of that nature happen to her it’ll only lend credibility to her story.

Damn! There goes my money-making idea. :sunglasses:

That has a decent chance to hold up as today’s winner.

But on my scorecard, “Therapist to Flag: ‘can you show us on the doll where Trump touched you’” is still knocking down every day’s new challenger in the TPM comedy relief division. It’s the Ken Jennings of comments.

I’m most interested in the behavior of Trump’s lawyers. For instance, under California’s Rules of civil procedure, Jill Martin remains the attorney of record in the Arbitration claim filed on Fed 22 throughout that process. Rosen’s (the out of state lawyer) official function is to assist/supplement the work of the attorney of record, and unless there was a change of CALIFORNIA attorneys, Martin (and Trump Inc by extension) were involved in the entire process.

And another detail-- California law (CCP 1282.4), requires advance notification – including “case name and case number” – of ALL parties and their counsel, in cases where an out-of-state lawyer wants to be involved in the arbitration.

But according to Avenatti, the “temporary restraining order” from the arbitrators was done in secret, and without notice. If this is true, it represents a significant violation of the law.

ADDITIONALLY, because Trump was a party to the arbitration agreement, it was necessary that HE also be notified of the action – which means more involvement of Trump lawyers.

Knowing what the Russians are capable of, death threats are technologically no different than any of the shit those bot nets and troll farms were belching into the Facebook conscienceness. Anyone who likes The Rump could do the same, be they Russians, Koreans, Chinese, or American Dixie trailer trash for that matter.

I’m sure Hollywood A-listers and other rich men like their cheaply silenced indiscretions just fine, as well. What’s $130,000 or $150,000 to a guy like Charlie Sheen? One nights bar tab in Vegas, that’s what. Hollywood goons could be behind the threats as well as anyone.

We’re along for the ride with The Rump because that’s what we get for electing one of New York’s and Hollywood’s most disreputable sleazes to the highest office in the land. But Hollywood’s giant sex racket is much bigger than him.

Wouldn’t it be gold if she trolled T rump by saying that she is concerned for his long-term health because he might have a sexually transmittable disease? I doubt that would be true. It doesn’t need to be, but can you imagine T rump’s paranoia at the mere thought? What would Melania do at hearing that news? If she wait two weeks, then she can legitimately claim that it was only a joke. Donald loves jokes.

I have a better idea. She could have her attorney say in a condescending manner (ala Ma Hamhock): “That’s ridiculous.”

Financially speaking, we’re all going to be less safe now:

A divided federal appeals court on Thursday tossed out an Obama-era Labor Department rule that required financial investment advisers to act in the best interest of their clients.

In a 2-1 ruling, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals said the fiduciary rule bears the hallmarks of “unreasonableness” and constitutes an arbitrary and capricious exercise of administrative power.

Disgusting.

And a democratic administration would have appealed that decision (for better or worse) but Sessions will let it stand.

Trump should resign. It should be over this. This issue is as important as every other scandal he is involved in because it shows not only that he is susceptible to blackmail, but that he is willing to pay it, and do whatever he has to to avoid the truth coming out. This disqualified him from being able to make decisions and demonstrate they are the result of deliberation and taken for the good of the country, as opposed to a response to blackmail.

The whole thing with Trump
He never thought he would win
Just loose and make book on election result challenges and harassing Hillary.
He knew those skeletons were in the closet and now they are coming out to ruin his last 20 or so years on this planet
I can’t wait until he’s drooling in a wheelchair and I can push him down a flight of stairs
