Discussion: Scott Walker: The Perfect Conservative?

Discussion for article #238429

Walker is anything but a conservative. Conservatives believe in order and moving slowly for fear of disrupting the equilibrium of society. He’s a raving, mouth-foaming idiot, but not conservative in the slightest.

Scott Walker feeds off the fears and hatred that consume the Republican base. His politics are based on divide and conquer, thus generating unbridled animosity from those he attacks. He does not govern by building a consensus, but rather he blames those whom the GOP base fears and hates for taking from Republicans what Republicans believe is theirs. Fair wages and civil rights are only for white religious folks, not for the usurpers who want a living wage for working hard, and not for gays, Latinos or the poor. So yes, Walker is the perfect Republican candidate.

Walker is a standout for one thing at which Republicans excel and Democrats suck: over reaching as far and wide as possible during those fleeting moments when they have total control.

Sure he’s the perfect “conservative” – pig-ignorant, ruthless, self-assured, and filled with hatred for anyone who deviates from his serve-the-rich agenda. One could go on, but why bother?

Snotty walker the kock owned cheat and anti-American fool…He may be the perfect tea bagger but he is NO conservative or republican…

Creating 1/10 of the jobs promised, destroying the WI economy and education system and dropping the State to 38th for self deluding anti-American cruelty is a dis-qualifier for Republicans…

I get extremely nervous about any politician that invokes the phrase “God’s plan”. That puts that politician on the same despicable level as ISIS, Al Qaeda, or the Ayatolla.

Anticipating this megalomaniac to introduce some sort of modernized form of comprehensive indentured servitude as an ‘innovative’ economic campaign plank - plus the criminalization of personal bankruptcy .

Not the perfect conservative. Perfect idiot, perhaps. Perfect asshole.

Relax, everybody… the DNC is so dismissive of Walker that they don’t bother listing him among the GOP candidates. https://www.democrats.org/the-2016-republican-field

Message framing? Defining a candidate? Getting a start on communications about a serious threat to Democratic values? Ehhhh, who needs it…

I think it’s cute when journalists pretend like Scott Walker is a real person rather than a Koch sockpuppet.

To put a finer point on it, he’s also proposed drug-testing welfare applicants, just to ensure the state’s largesse is spent only on those willing to endure ritual humiliation to atone for the sin of poverty.

Nicely put –

More like perfect plutocrats’ poodle; or would that be Rand Paul? Perhaps a “Miniature Koch-hund.”

Bring this guy on, seriously. He may fire up the deadbeats but America is only roughly a quarter dead beats and that leaves a lot of persuading to do. Walker looks like the Mad magazine dude without all the charisma. Balding, cross-eyed and mean is no way to go through life and is not inspiring to the masses.

Walker, a personal failure in education wants the nation to fail along with him, that realization will put the quietus on the Walker way of the world. Yes, hateful and hurtful motivates the teabagging wingnuts but despite all the noise, they are still just a marginalized group of clowns.

These Walker initiatives sound draconian ( and I assume they are), but if they are so bad why is it that Walker keeps on winning in Wisconsin? I hope the answer to that question goes beyond “Oh, well, the Republicans get out their base and the Democrats don’t .” There’s obviously more going on than that, and we need to understand what it is.

Midwest, schmidwest. You think that’ll sell in Alabama or Nevada?

Remember the 2012 candidate who said he was the uniter of the social and fiscal arms of the GOP? No one else does either, he faded so fast. Bad strategy. Won’t work this time, either.

Walker’s numbers rise when he ‘goes rabid.’ It’ll be a necessity if he’s to do well in the Southern primaries, where being a Midwesterner is probably a liability.

Walker has the charisma of Tim Pawlenty, the ethics of Chris Christie, and the policy chops of Rick Perry. He truly is the platonic ideal of a modern Republican candidate.

I wish the media would stop using ironic or misleading headlines, unless it really is your objective to gain votes for this candidate. People read “perfect” as a positive attribute. Are the voters really so stupid as to miss such word nuances? Yes, I’m afraid we are. A sufficient number of working people in Wisconsin elected Walker three times to the governor’s office, even though he has nothing but disdain for our interests. Calling Walker a “perfect conservative,” or a perfect anything, belittles the destruction he has done to Wisconsin and the horrific danger he poses to this nation.
