Discussion: Obama Reportedly Smacked Down Criticism Of His Syria Policy As 'Horsesh*t'

When the President’s Foreign Policy is called ‘Don’t Do Stupid Sht’, and by contrast NeoCONs and Hillary Clinton’s Foreign Policy is 'Let’s Do Stupid Sht’…like the “dumb war” they voted for and supported. Why these bozos get any time, to say nothing of giving them equal time??? it’s a puzzlement.

Assad was pretty effective against ISIS, confining their ‘conquests’ to a small corridor. Ousting him would have been to ISIS’ benefit. I agree with President Obama, 100%.

Um, Mrs. Clinton, you need to read Josh Marshall’s editorial piece from yesterday. But in case you don’t have time I will offer a brief , yet colorful, summary. Trying to appeal to the Democratic base by attacking Obama from the right, especially on foreign policy, is really fucking stupid.

Remember the outrage shown by the GOP when Obama suggested bombing Assad for his use of chemical weapons?

His threats to bomb Assad got him to the negotiating table, eliminating the very ‘red line’ Obama had drawn regarding chemical weapons, now mainly disposed of. But the dummies in the Beltway and beyond, even the Democrats therein, never understood this very effective strategy. Hillary sure didn’t.

kudos on the spot-on dialect spelling.

Good for him. He should have said it more often to lawmakers - that’s all some of them have been engaged in since he was elected.

This is not reporting… This is ‘he said, she said.’ As for Clinton this situation was developing during her tenure and she couldn’t prevent it.
She couldn’t get Putin to committed to a UN resolution against Assad or Russia to admit that Syria had CWs (check the video).

As for congress when they had a chance to vote for a strike against Syria they PUNK OUT (ALL HOUSE REPUBLICANS VOTED NO or UNDECIDED). In the senate a resolution passed committee but was table when Russia realize that Obama was serious about taking out the storage facilities where Assad hid them. And Russia had turn out to be a liar.

R. Paul, T. Cruz and majority of REPUBLICAN voted NO/UNDECIDED. Mcbomb-bomb, Ms. Graham, B. Corker voted yes… Code Pink was at the hearings protesting. And the Amer. media does what it always does, taken a poll ’ Should the Pres. take military action against Syria?’ resulted: Majority said “NO.”

McBomb-bomb took it a step further, he flew to Syria took pictures w/ suppose “good rebels,” cause he personally knew them. Turn out to be ISIS, he even did on air statement from Syria. This was all to undermine the Pres. on foreign soil.

In the end "All Conservatives/ Liberal media, all republicans, & Tbaggers was praising Putin as a strong leader who stood up (after 3 yrs. lying about the situation in Syria). Then Putin wrote an op-ed in the NYT basely told Amer. "kiss his a!@.

At this point, All Amer. Media have NO credibility. Their just lag dogs for the Archie Bunkers party with a hint of tabloid reporting.

Mr. President, enjoy what little vacation you have. Because after 5 yrs. dealing with a racist repub. party & a weak knee Dem. caucus.

Well, in fairness, that’s all the opposition has to offer.

To be fair, that’s true.

Also to be fair, however, Hillary can and should find other ways to make her point than by joining the McCain-Graham wing of the opposition.

The only solution in Syria is to foster a coalition of the Assadists and the uninvolved and non-Islamists to resist ISIS and form a peaceful coalition government with fair and open elections. The US is stupid to have as a precondition the removal of Assad.

Like it or not, there are lots of people out there who will get more upset about their little darlings being exposed to a scatological phrase then they will about foreign policy and military actions that may result in many deaths somewhere else.

BRAVO, BARACK! Time to get tough with the lying Republicans.

How do we improve on that? Don’t do dumb shit, that’s how.

We definitely don’t need any new wars because we still have the old wars. The problem is that Bush got us stuck in quagmire.

The sad thing is that it is not hindsight. The first time we say Bush II debate, didn’t we all know that he was smart enough to be President. But he got in office anyway and sure enough, he did some dumb shit. Now six years after he left office we are still stuck with the consequences of his dumb shit with no way out.

Contrary to what Hillary thinks “don’t do dumb shit” is a great governing principle.

It would help to quell the criticism if Obama would outline a strategy for the Middle East. At present he seems to have none.
