Discussion: McCain Urges Unity Around Trump, Says It's 'Foolish To Ignore' Voters

WTF McCain? You’ve been ignoring the voters for all seven years of Obama’s presidency.

The Republican Party set the rules to front end the primary cycle and established winner takes all (plurality) as the standard. What about the 60% of Republican voters who didn’t vote for Drumpf, Johnny Mac? Isn’t it foolish to ignore those voters?

McWar is well past his sell date. Half the time he doesn’t know if he’s coming or going. Going, going, gone however, would be preferable. He adds nothing to Senate other than pandering for his job every 6 years. For Arizona, not so much…Unfortunately, he’s Missing in Action when it comes to Arizona. Does he even live there anymore? Or does he live elsewhere in one of his other 8 or 9 houses when not in DC?

McCain also expressed disappointment in British officials’ overriding decision to name the Natural Environment Research Council’s new, remotely-operate submarine “RSS David Attenborough” instead of voters’ preferred choice: “Boaty McBoatface.”

Republicans often seem to think that because the are ahead in a primary race, the others candidates should drop out. And if they win a primary race, even with low voter turnout, they think everyone should embrace their platform. And if the win an election, even when losing the popular vote, they consider it a mandate. Yet, when they lose, their Malaprop logic won’t allow them to support the Democrat who wins.
This Trump-thing will split the Republicans into two camps: Conservatives and Fuck-The-Government. The latter will be joined by the Republicans who just like to stay in office, but it won’t be enough to win a national election.

McCain just showed that he has lost the iron in his spine that he exhibited as a POW. No he’s going to cooperate with the enemy. A coward!

Back in 1912, the GOP ignored the voters and they got THIS:

WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT

The voters were so pissed off that they formed their own party and got THIS:

THEODORE ROOSEVELT

And the guy who ultimately sat in the Oval Office was THIS

Democrat WOODROW WILSON

Guess what the electoral vote count was?

Taft the Republican - 8
Roosevelt the Bull Moose - 88
Wilson the Democrat - 435

[laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh]

Do you REALLY think I am worried about ANYBODY in the GOP? REALLY?

My first thought was that that was a very Zen-like statement. The sound of one hand clapping…

“You have to draw the conclusion that there is some distance, if not a disconnect, between party leaders and members of Congress and the many voters who have selected Donald Trump to be the nominee of the party,” McCain said in the interview.

The first statement indicating a Republican gets the core of their problem. Can they deal with it? How? Will they?

Says the man who raised Sarah Palin out of the obscurity that she, and the Republic, deserved to be her destiny. In 2008, exposed himself as a man who, when push came to shove, would say or do anything to get more power. In that campaign, McCain proved that his whole “straight talkin’ mavericky maverick he-man tough guy” persona was pure branding unrooted in any innate integrity or character he might possess, which he would cast away like used toilet paper if it seemed expedient.

Now we see him willing to surrender every last remaining shred of whatever dignity he has left to cling to what power he has left for another six years. Sad!

Anyone know the issues McCain is running on? Conservative so called values, you know their usual silliness of small govt and no new taxes or is he more aligned with Trump?
