Discussion: McCain Says Trump Should Provide Evidence Or Retract Wiretap Claims

If you would have stayed consistent in your “maverickness,” Johnny, you might have made it to the White House on your own.

Unfortunately the whole thing was an attempt to deflect the media from Jeff Session’s meetings with the Russians. Sadly, it worked exceptionally well.

This is coming from a man who knew Comrade Chaos would be every bit the disaster he’s turned out to be (and worse) yet still supported him.

So, again I say …

Fuck You, Sid McCrashcup!

It’s not an involuntary tic, it’s a feature.™

Obama wiretapped Trump? I had no idea the Russians switched sides and are now working for the democrats.

As some have pointed out Trump and his enablers’ clever trick is shifting the burden of proof. Normally the burden of proof lies with the accuser but Trump and his liars make baseless accusations then demand that the accused prove that they are innocent.

I have been following Garry Trudeau for 40 years (He is also in a Danish newspaper ) --…he still shines…

He had some very prescient take-downs of Trump years ago.

EDIT: found this Fresh Air with Trudeau, worth hearing

So obviously McCain’s not a truth-telling stand up guy, and not even consistently a so-called “maverick.” I think what he actually is would be a common, garden-variety pain-in-the-ass troublemaker. He tells himself he’s trying to make things better. But really he just wants to nag and criticize. I’ve found this theory works fine whenever I need to explain something McCain has done or said.

It is a bold statement to make and I am serious, knowing that Trump wouldn’t ever retreat from any irresponsible accusation, and once he were somehow forced to, he would merely repeat the original libelous remark. Upon the very next opportunity!

I’m sure Trump is quaking in his Bruno Maglis at the thought of John McCain demanding answers. Like GWB before him, Trump took the measure of McCain and correctly deduced that when push comes to shove, the Arizona Bloviator will never, ever stand up for himself. He’s all hot air and nothing more.

Trump is the large orangeback gorilla who invaded the turf of the allegedly Alpha Male Republicans in Congress and cowed them all into submission. He ritually mounts them each morning to re-emphasize his dominance, and has his way with their females whenever he feels like it. In return, he gets slavish devotion from all but a few renegades, and those that challenge him are chased out of the troop or killed outright.

Assuming you are correct, McCain may be playing right into Trump’s sinister planning

It is a pretty obvious choice at that, an McCain virtually guaranteed that he will select it, by laying down the gauntlet.

If we give McCain credit for seeing the same obvious result in advance that we do, what could he be up to?

Nah Just fucking stupid

Yeah that was the show that ended that insipid David Gregory’s career, and not a minute too soon!

"House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes (R-CA) said on Tuesday that he has not seen any evidence for Trump’s unsubstantiated claims and suggested that reporters not take Trump’s comments “literally.” "

That’s a hell of a standard.

If he’s prone to speaking figuratively, then the words of the most powerful man in the world are open to any number of interpretations.

If he says we’re going to war with Iran, he might be referring to a volleyball tournament.

The White House will say something like “Sen. McCain agrees that wiretapping Trump would be extremely serious. This is why we want a thorough, independent investigation”

Yep, just another way of saying he’s not going to do anything, except anything to get on TV.

McCain: “Trump should retract his accusation.”

Well, he deleted his tweet. Doesn’t that amount to the same thing in Trump World?
