It is because he is a fake. He is important and knowledgeable in his own mind. Just because he was considered an expert by Breitbart News means nothing. He either fooled them into thinking he was or they hired him as a person who would appear on TV and say anything without shame. People in the international security industry had barely heard of him when he went to work for Trump. All he is is a Steve Bannon minion, thinking if they yell loud enough they can overpower everyone else and instill their views on the world.
