He’s like a brass-plated Gandhi…
As always, it is about Him. No mention of the historical nature of the holiday established to honor service members from all of America’s many, many (too many, probably) wars, police actions, aggressive interdictions, AUMFs, and Special Ops.
Certainly a novel way of running for President - insulting his fellow Americans.
News flash, loser: I’ve never been bankrupt, neither financially nor morally…
As a Republican, when he speaks of losers he means people who served in the military. That’s not for him or his children, that’s for other people’s kids.
Sure as anything, somebody will say “Happy Memorial Day” to me today, and I’ll remind them it’s a day borne of sadness in which we honor the war dead, and then their eyes glaze over because they’re thinking how could it be a sad day when they don’t have to go to work.
That thing that lives on his head must be at the dry cleaner’s.
Trump may have some money, but he has no class whatsoever. To sow division on a day when the nation hopes to be unified to honor the war dead is repulsive.
a truly happy and enjoyable Memorial Day!
That struck me as weird and inappropriate too. As a non-English speaker it can be difficult with the etiquette, but it seems completely out of touch with the sentiment of the day…
Does Donald Trump also wish “Happy Easter” ?
Donald who?
I had a bit of back and forth with a friend who believes “Happy Memorial Day” is nothing more than wishing you a happy, carefree long weekend. Since I disagree, we spent a few minutes at it. Not sure about “Happy Easter” since it is the day Christ arose. Happy Good Friday never.
I believe Christ arose on “Ascension Day” according to Christian Theology, but as an atheist, what would I know…?
Every day is Donald Trump Day, underneath the orange squirrel.
My Catholicism and all I’d learned lapsed many years ago, but I do remember one of the dessicated nuns talking about “He arose.” It’s a quibble since were non-believers.
Why thank you Trump! You’re to much of a scumbag for me to address you as Mister, I’m a hater who hates your rotting guts and would spit on you if I saw you in the flesh, but thanks from this Navy vet!
Why have these non-serving republicans running for president declared war on veterans and memorial day?
Such a beautiful sentiment on a day NOT set aside to honor those like Donald whose idea of “ultimate sacrifice” is to give up looking for a ball lost in the rough.

My vague memories of long ago pre-recovering Catholic days are that Christ arose from the dead on Easter, (edit) hung around for 40 days, and ascended into heaven on Ascension Day, but I would not stake my life on it.
